Lou Kalu — Restaurant in Nice

Pathetic service would be an understatement if you ever visit this restaurant for breakfast.

There is 1 server serving at least 30 people in 10-12 tables.

The breakfast for us took 50 minutes. We went there today morning.

We had two scramble eggs, one pain au chocolate, fruit juice and cappuccino which was 17 euro. Server completely forgot that she didn't serve us the cappuccino. We had to request twice for it. The cappuccino was good.

Lou Kalu was our go-to spot on our trip to Nice! It was right outside our hotel (Hotel Cresp) and it was fabulous! The pitchoun breakfast was perfect and priced just right. The staff were excellent every time we stopped. We had dinner there one night and they have THE BEST Salade niçoise in all of Nice! You won’t often find fresh tuna on the salade niçoise, but they do it and they do it right! It was fabulous! The socca was also delicious and highly recommended. One portion is a great starter. For breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we can’t wait to go back...

Very odd how many positive reviews there are. Really mediocre food. The pizza was worse than my old school canteen. The ravioli worse than from a tin at Lidl. The daube sauce way too bitter. Perhaps we just ordered badly, but we did get 4 different things and all pretty terrible. We considered just not eating it and getting dinner somewhere else. Also small menu and no atmosphere. 5 star for service as they were prompt and nice and the waitress proactively called out something we'd ordered which is not recommended for...
