Artisan de la Truffe Marais — Restaurant in Paris

Before i went to this restaurant i read all the reviews, including the bad ones. It did make me hesitate a bit, but i decided to give it chance anyway. And I'm glad I did!!! I had the most delicious truffle pasta, very intense in taste(i chose the black truffle) and my friend had the truffle risotto, which was also delicious! We also tried the tiramisu with truffles, which was quite interesting. The portions were quite large. The service was extraordinary, the server was very welcoming and helped us choose what wine would go best with what we chose to eat, he made us feel right at home and was very polite and courteous! The atmosphere was pleasent and a little fancy with lovely music. All in all it was a 5 out of 5 experience and we will be coming back again! I don't understand why there were bad reviews, because everything was impeccable, from the serving to the food. I wish i could upload a picture to show you but Google...

Came here for dinner and left with disappointment and a very bad stomachache.

Greeted by a waiter in a rude manner, even though I had a reservation and the place was 90% empty. Took my place and ordered the burger and a carafe of water. Had to ask about the water a second time, despite the fact that a table in my vicinity received theirs after asking one time.

Burger arrives and it’s not cooked as I requested ( I asked the waiters specifically, since the waiter was not available) and the food is not very warm. I asked for extra truffles (the 5 euro upcharge) and got 6 small shavings. The potatoes were not cooked well and tasted stale.

I guess the waiter decided to come back and be nice, not sure why, since he was quite unpleasant in the our first interactions. I just wanted to get out and pay the bill, which I had to do at the counter.

Food was okay just depended on what you ordered, the pizza and Caesar salad were both extremely overpriced (everything was) and not that great. Pizza was just simple flatbread and small for price, with cold meat on-top. Steak TarTar was good and had great potatoes with it, however heavy on brine and so no real meat taste. Burger was okay but nothing special (good potato’s as well). Service was impolite and questionable. The big thing was the ants…. We were sat at a table and immediately noticed a bunch of ants on and around the table. They offered to move tables but then never came back and cleaned them. I also noticed that other reviews said the same problem so seems like it’s been going on for a while. Atmosphere was cute and modern but the ants definitely ruined it....
