Atelier d’André is a relatively new restaurant that opened in December 2024. The restaurant has ambitions to be a “fine dining” place. It needs a little practice to get there. My partner and I chose four courses and were served two glasses of wine with the meal. The four courses for about €50 + surcharge for various upgrades reflect a good price-quality ratio. The food. The food was a well-crafted and artisanally solid experience. For example, the lobster tail in bisque with chestnuts and peppers made a good impression, while the “Pommes de Terre” lacked a little salt and fat to be in the same league. I also had the local stir-fry tartare and chocolate souffle for dessert. Both were fine without knocking my legs out of my way. Wines. The wine list is divided into “Grand Wines” and regular. On the Grand Wines list is topped by the legendary “Chateau Latour” 2010 (if you ask the price, you can’t afford it). We had a Grand Cru d’ Alsace and white Chateauneuf du Pape to start - and a glass of fantastic Burgundy 1st cru. The atmosphere. The atmosphere of the place lacks guests, laughter and engaged conversations. The or well-decorated restaurant invites both “simple bistro” and fine dining. It may well be that we have been unlucky, but I am of the opinion that food tastes best in good company. Here Atlier d’Andre was lacking a bit on the day. Overall it was a good experience, with a staff that tries to do its best. But what is missing is atmosphere and the final routine of both the waiters and in the kitchen before the visit...
Read moreTwo nights ago we had a wonderful meal here. Located on a charming corner on Rue Saint-Andre des Arts, the ambiance is comfortable and warm for a cool fall night. Our server, Marcela, was able to give us a reservation on short notice and showed us to the best table for watching the delightful jazz combo play during our meal. Our family of four all got different dishes, and we enjoyed all of them -- fish of the day (cod), truffled beef, and chicken, finishing with an excellent lemon curd dessert. She had good recommendations for food and wine, and both she and the other server were quite attentive to our needs and very friendly to converse with. A...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about our experience at this restaurant. The food was extraordinary, the location and atmosphere were excellent and inviting, and what really made all the difference was that the service was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. The sommelier was so knowledgeable and engaging and there was a very talented musician playing great music at a volume that did not interfere with our conversation. The maître d even asked if the volume was ok for us. In sum, the staff really cared about our experience and the food was fantastic by any standard. We will definitely return and recommend to...
