Au Comptoir — Restaurant in Paris

I'm currently on holiday in Paris from London with my wife and two kids, 12 and 10. We're staying around the Louis Blanc area and wanted to find a typical Parisian Brasserie for dinner within walking distance.

I found Au Comptoire online and we were extremely pleased we did. Everything was excellent. The service was wonderful with waiting staff who wanted to know all about our trip and how it was going. We made the kids try the (delicious) snails with surprising success! My wife had the prawn risotto which was one of the best she'd ever had. I had the entrecote (steak) which came with an exceptional pepper sauce. The kids both had lovely burgers.

They also do cocktails - I had an Old Fashioned and my wife had a Cosmopolitan. Both very well made.

We even got into a great conversation with the two gentlemen on the next table who were locals and were telling us all about the area and how fond they were of it.

All in all, a wonderful experience. Great food, great atmosphere and very reasonably priced. We're coming again next time...

Waited 15min to get a menu (had to go to the bar and get one myself), another 15min to get water and total of 40-45min for an avocado toast. Just a slice of bread that was not even toasted, cold and so was the egg. Paid extra for the bacon and they put just one piece of bacon. The toast itself wasn't horrible but definitely not worth 15.5 euro. Can't talk much about service because I didn't really get any. Even the girl who brought the toast to me just put the plate on the table and left. The staff seemed to be very busy but the place wasn't even crowded. Such a lovely bar/restaurant with a delicious selection of food, wines & beers. We opted for a sharing board of meat & cheeses which was genourous in portion size & great value. We were served by a polite, helpful young lady Bleuanie (?spelling) who helped us navigate the menu as we do not speak French.
