Barbanegra | Terrasse Festive — Restaurant in Paris

My original birthday venue canceled last minute, and Barbanegra was the only place available for a group of 50 last minute — now I understand why.

This was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a venue. They were completely dishonest during booking, failing to mention that we’d be charged for full bottles instead of cocktails, and imposed a minimum spend without including food.

Throughout the night, I was treated with disrespect by the staff at the entrance (our waiter was the only respectful person there) — I had to go to the door five times to identify guests, and was spoken to in an arrogant and rude manner. I had to justify that I knew my own friends so that they were able to come in… This was so embarrassing for them waiting at the door for me to come.

Things got worse when security violently threw out three of my friends, even ripping one of their shirts. I ended up in tears on my own birthday — and the head of security laughed in my face as it happened.

All 50 of us left and went to Le Mazette next door, where we were treated with kindness and respect.

Do not go to Barbanegra. This place lacks basic customer service and decency. Spend your time and money somewhere that...

STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. The people at the entry are all very rude. We waited some time to get in for something we have reserved. Once we are in place, we waited long time to have the server to come to take our order. We needed to spend 30 euros per person minimum, which was fine for me as I would expect they had good stuff. But nooon, first, the drinks are Super expensive 13 euros for a Small glass of cocktails, and VERY LIMITED selection. I took only MOJITO (because others are not interesting at all) that is universal and can get for 5~8 euros anywhere for better quality and quantity. Second, food is NOT included in the 30 euros consumption. Which is ridiculous. Not that the food is cheap or good, it's 15 euros for a sandwich with some chips. And NO TOILET!! I have only one thing positive from this place which is the view on the Seine and which you can have at any place OUTSIDE this bar also....i paid 40 euros in the end to share the cost with the friends, for 2 glasses of cocktail and very little food. Comportement inacceptable de la sécurité – expérience déplorable ! Le dimanche 27 juillet 2025, je me suis rendue à la soirée Sunday Groove à la Barbanegra avec deux amies. Nous sommes arrivées à 18h30 et avons été mises à la porte par la sécurité aux alentours de 20h30. Pourquoi ? L’une d’entre nous avait enlevé ses talons pour danser pieds nus – sur un sol glissant, mouillé par la pluie – et a été interpellée par un homme lui demandant de remettre ses chaussures. Avant d’obtempérer, nous avons voulu connaître son identité, car il ne portait aucun signe distinctif (badge, brassard ou uniforme) permettant de confirmer qu’il faisait partie de la sécurité. En guise de réponse, il nous a simplement montré le compteur qu’il tenait en main. Malgré notre méfiance, nous avons accepté de le suivre pour obtenir des explications. Il nous a conduites vers la sortie et nous a sèchement ordonné de rentrer chez nous. Imaginez notre surprise et notre incompréhension. Derrière des barrières et face à plusieurs agents de sécurité, nous étions trois jeunes femmes d’environ 1m50, cherchant calmement à comprendre la situation. En retour, nous avons été ignorées, traitées avec mépris, et accusées de n’avoir pas payé notre entrée – ce qui est totalement faux. Deux d’entre nous avaient réservé des billets gratuits via la plateforme Dice une semaine plus tôt, et la troisième avait payé 15 € son billet sur place. Par ailleurs, nous avions déjà consommé pour 30 € de boissons. Cette remarque infondée a été suivie d’une accusation d’agressivité, alors que nous avions maintenu une attitude respectueuse et ouverte au dialogue dès le départ. Les agents ont également filmé la scène sans notre consentement, enfreignant notre droit à l’image et nous infligeant une expérience particulièrement humiliante. À la lecture des nombreux commentaires similaires concernant les agissements de la sécurité dans cet établissement, nous comprenons que notre cas n’est pas isolé.
