3,8/5 Very nice looking restaurant, spacious, and cozy with an inside terrace as well ! We were comfortably seated by Clara who was thoughtful and speedy. We were pleasantly treated to a dish of homemade mozzarella sticks with pesto and marinara sauce, both of which were very good. My friends opted for the côte de boeuf (1,2kg for 2) which they found delicious, perfect cooking, flavourful and tender, and comes with 3 side dishes (fennel, fries, and a very good baked sweet potato) I had the cod with eggplant and tomatoes, but unfortunately I was quite disappointed ; the fish with unevenly cooked, parts being too dry and crispy and others very much less. Both vegetables were poor in flavour (black olives could have been discarded imo) and the dish was somewhat bland. Friends also ordered a financier which was delicious ! I do think I'll be testing it again (if only because of my friends who enjoyed their meal), event hough it seemed a bit pricey.
4,4/5 After trying this joint 3 times more times, I can confidently say that some of their dishes are delicious and tasty ! We tried the Thai salad which was fragrant, fresh, packed with flavors and spices, the beef steak was very good, juice and perfectly cooked, their magret de canard (meal of the day) : copious (2 huge slices) perfectly cooked with a fantastic red fruit sauce (cherry I presume) with an asparagus side dish that was a treat for the palate. Difficult to have such a diverse menu, with tasty and delicious dishes all around. It seems that Benedict does serve everything (fish to meat and eggs) with quality dishes and...
Read moreBenedict seems to be a very popular brunch place, which has a very long queue throughout the weekend. We were a large group and the cool thing was that despite not being able to book, we were offered a table after only 20 minutes. In terms of ambiance, I didn’t find this place cozy, as there were way too many people. It seemed to me that the goal was to squeeze in more people as possible. The toilet was borderline claustrophobic (but maybe this is common in other places in Paris). In terms of service, a nice guy came to pick our order. He didn’t write down anything, and as a result, he asked several times our orders to make sure he got it right (had he taken the notes, he would have perhaps had a much harder time). A colleague of him was occasionally speaking loudly to his colleagues when he was walking by with hot dishes. I found the food not to be exceptional. The hollandaise sauce on my eggs was not too warm, and the avocado toast was a bit smaller than I thought (the picture is not true to size) and truly not remarkable. My partner’s meat was better in taste. The star of the show was definitely the sweet potato as a side: these were by far the best sweet potatoes I have had in my life. Would I recommend this place? Probably, as this seems to be a true paradise for brunch (they have a whole section for eggs Benedict and a large menu featuring mains, cocktails, desserts, pancakes). I personally wouldn’t go back but I am...
Read moreI am a sucker for Eggs Benedict, so when I saw this place on google maps I just knew I had to go there when I visited Paris. Later I realized that Eggs Benedict is not even a French dish so to go for the OG I should have probably tried it when I was in New York. They have an extensive menu with all kinds of variety that go with the Eggs Benedict. I tried their classic one. Not the classic I am used to, this was with Char Siu (I think), spinach and sauce holandaise. The eggs were good with runny yolk and all, the meat could be a little more crispy or when not intended as crispy at least served hot. The sauce hollandaise could use more vinegar and spice. The meal as a whole (I ordered an extra portion of hot and crispy fries) filling was filling. Furthermore I liked my detox drink (something wholesome with berries and vitamins) very much. The atmosphere was very vibrant, with hipster, attentive and English speaking (who would have thought that 25 years ago) staff and cool playlist. So here I was lucky I just entered the restaurant 10 minutes before rush hour. But you might want to make a reservation if your party consists of more...
