An amazing little French restaurant where the quality of food was top notch. I visited this restaurant on Saturday with my friend (we were spending a weekend in Paris). The restaurant was busy at 8:00pm, packed full of diners enjoying their food and wine.
The menu is written on a chalkboard (so cute!, so I suspect the food changes each day perhaps?). The lovely waitress who served us was such a bundle of joy, and was so friendly and attentive. She translated the menu for us in English. In the end we went for 3 small dishes and one main’s (one of the mains which was the sausage brioche was sold out).
Honestly the food was impeccable. It was so delicious, the flavours was divine and the presentation was beautiful. The quality of the food was on the highest level and the whole meal was reasonably affordable compared to the prices in London (where I’m from). To eat such good quality food in London will be expensive, but 3 small dishes, the one main meal and a glass of white wine (which was really good and I’m not even a wine drinker) came to €60.50!
If you live in Paris or coming over for a holiday make sure you visit Billili, you will not be disappointed!
Looking forward to coming back again and trying more of their...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant in the most accidental ways. We were trying to go somewhere else, and they refused to the table with our three young boys. We were standing on the street outside, trying to figure out where to feed our family on our first night in Paris, and we were greeted by the most lovely of men who stuck his head out the door & asked if we needed a table despite being packed to the gills. We couldn’t imagine how they could squeeze us in to a tiny wine bar that was so filled, it was hard to imagine even a couple finding even their way in. Not only did they welcome us, they served us for hours that evening without us even placing an order. Dish after dish, wine bottle after wine bottle, more than we could’ve ever expected for a random spot we stumbled upon. If ever you are lucky enough to find yourself here for a night, trust the staff, tell them to bring you enough food for your table, enough wine to bring your joy, enjoy a lovely evening in Paris amongst the locals. This is my favorite memory of Paris this last spring and I can’t wait to...
Read moreBillili is such a gem! We stopped in for a glass of wine and a few small plates and were not disappointed. It’s a bit more local than touristy, so be prepared to speak a little French—but the staff were so kind and helpful, especially when it came to recommending wine. I absolutely loved the natural orange wine.
The small plates were incredible too—honestly, the best taramasalata I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be trying (and probably failing) to recreate it at home. We also had the onion tart with anchovies, which was super tasty, and the chickpea fries, which I’d absolutely recommend.
If we’d had more time, we would have stayed longer and tried even more plates. Such a special...
