If you're a tourist STAY AWAY from this place. As someone who rarely writes reviews, I felt compelled to share my experience to warn others. From the moment we arrived, red flags were everywhere. We endured a 40-minute wait for our salad appetizers, despite there being only two other small groups of 2 in the restaurant. The appetizers were disappointing, but the main courses were truly appalling.
I ordered the filet mignon, requesting it medium rare. What I received was something that looked almost alive, far from even rare - blue rare at best. The attached picture clearly shows how undercooked it was. To add insult to injury, the steak was unseasoned, tasted spoiled, and had two cuts along the top, suggesting the chef was uncertain about its doneness.
When I raised my concerns, the restaurant manager responded by yelling at our party (in both English and French - he definitely knew English), insisting that we didn’t know what real French steak was (we thought this was an Italian restaurant?). He was rude, condescending, and utterly disrespectful, focusing solely on the steak’s cook while ignoring my valid concerns about its potential spoilage.
The pasta we tried was no better, tasting worse than dry pasta you’d cook at home. Overall, our dining experience was horrendous, marred by poor food quality and atrocious service.
If you're visiting the area, especially for the Olympics, avoid this restaurant at all costs. I have the receipt to prove my visit, should the restaurant try to flag this review. There are plenty of other amazing dining options nearby that offer better food and...
Read moreWe are visiting Paris, staying at a nearby hotel, and we already dined here twice. First night, right after checking in at the hotel, and tonight. Ambient is perfect. Accompanying music, nothing too loud that prevents conversations. Today we met the owner, he speaks english, spanish and I think also italian, and he is a really nice person. Today at least, he also served customers, greeted them, specially foreigners like ourselves. Variety is bliss, and you'll find it here. Pizzas Rouge (with tomatoes) or Blanche (without tomatoes), meat, salad, antipasto, you pick your choice. You'll find red and white wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages as well. Desserts are misleading in the menu. I asked for a vanilla icecream that had 2 cream balls in the picture, I got a cup way larger than pictured, with chantilly cream, praline on top, and heart of chocolate. I was unable to finish it, my wife had to help me. Prices are really affordable, average 20-30 € per person. If you are near Gare du Nord, you must come to...
Read moreAs an American tourist it is extremely hard to find a restaurant that are not a rip off. In comes la villa del padre. A real authentic Italian restaurant with an owner that has a real attention to detail and is customer service oriented. He speaks multiple languages (Italian, French, English, Spanish). The service is fast and The pizzas delicious. The owner works the dough multiple days before making pizzas and you can tell. They have so many different pizzas you can choose from so it’s accommodating to all types of diet. And please whatever you do, ask for the desert of the day. The desert is made by an Italian old lady and they change daily. Ours was a pistachio cheesecake. Never had anything like it. And it was so light on the stomach! Do yourself a favor. If you’re in the area stop by and you won’t be...
