Terrible Service, worst than average, and everything because of a rude and disrespectful waiter (an average tall man with beard). GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. In a half empty restaurant, we wanted to seat outside (20th April 2019). Even though there were some people there (same row), my husband and I couldn’t because the whole row was only for dinner (4 hours later, let me say it again, even when there were already people seated there). After trying to get a explanation that makes sense he agrees (after a weird conversation), but not where we were, instead in the table next to us. Why?!! “We would like to seat here, it doesn’t make any difference”. In a table of 4 (made of two tables of two) we CAN’T seat, but in the next table of 4 (same 2x2) yes (what!!!). I was just asking for an explanation why, and the answer didn’t make any sense. Well, then starts the fun. He becomes really rude, asking me where I come from. Answering to his question, he says “oh that’s why you don’t understand, I get it” In a very disrespectful way. REALLY!!! UNBELIEVABLE. IT IS CLEAR THE CUSTOMER IS NOT THE FOCUS HERE. HE IS RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL, AND RATHER LOSE A BILL THAN HAVING US IN A HALF EMPTY PLACE!!! NOTHING MADE SENSE. Look, you have so many choices in Paris. MANY with great food. Don’t take the risk, and better go to another place. They gave me some very uncomfortable minutes I shouldn’t have had. The other clientes already in the place supported with comments before I left the place. The manager wasn’t there when I asked for him,...
Read moreThis was single handily the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. And I have traveled a lot around the world. Our photographer recommended this place so we traveled 20 minutes across town to check it out. There were many tables when we arrived at 8pm open, yet the man working the front kind of pretended not to notice us. He finally sat us down and that was that. We sat there for 50 minutes without being able to get any help, despite trying to call for the servers who served all the tables around us. No one would even make eye contact with is. The final straw was when a table that was sat 45 minutes after us had drinks and starters and we still didn’t have water. I’m not sure what the issue was. We were very polite. We did have children, but the table across from us were all eating and had screaming young children. We are American, but the table beside us was also American. Finally out of desperation (hungry children), I ran down the street and found Le Campanella who immediately got us in with only one open table left and was a 5 star experience. Wonderful service and delicious food. Highly recommend you skip this restaurant, especially if you are American or have children. I cannot speak to the food as they refused to give us any. The atmosphere...
Read more1st time in Paris for me and I wanted to try some local cuisine. This place caught our attention for being in our way to the Eiffel Tower.
We didn't have a reservation, but we were quickly seated by a lovely lady (she probably was so busy that she forgot to introduce herself). We settled on the duck and the scallop dishes with French onion soup as our starter.
The onion soup came rather fast, and it's more beefy taste than what we had in the States, but we liked it. The scallops were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I particularly like the use of roasted chestnuts. The duck had some part that was overcooked and a very chewy piece. The sauce wasn't as sweet but balanced out the gaminess of the duck. The table next to use had also ordered the same dish, and their duck portion was a lot larger. We finished off our meals with a fruit and mango sorbet, which was nice as we didn't want anything heavy prior to the Eiffel Tower trip.
Being that the dining table was about 2 feet in diameter, I must say they planned dishes well as we didn't get the next dish till we finished and the table cleared. That was greatly appreciated.
The spiral staircase up to the restroom was unique. Definitely not ADA compliance.
Overall, it's a nice place and...
