Only go here for pastries, not bread. IMHO this is place should not advertise itself as a boulangerie. The storefront is gorgeous. Go in, admire it, and leave. You are most likely a tourist if you are on this street coming from the Tour Eiffel. You should already be wary of the food surrounding this area. There are only few, but some special, places that have survived.. The classic tradition (baguette) I purchased was rubbery, stale, inedible. I have lived here for 3+ years, in many many arrondissements, and I hate to say, this was the worst baguette I have ever had in ParisâŠbut to be honest, I cannot claim to have « had » it; I had a few bites and was unable to chew it. If I swallowed it I would have choked. I had to throw it away. You know a boulangerie is good if they are constantly making baguettes, even late in the day, and likely you will receive one fresh out of the oven. Here it is far from the case. And to be even more frank, the pĂątisserie do not look so good here either. I would recommend the boulangerie down the street for bread..and for patisserie, the best one is PariSeven nearby, and that building is also gorgeous inside.. I hate to share that secret w tourists... But...
Read moreThere were a few people in line but it went quickly. We were helped by a woman that just asked âwhat do you wantâ, no smile, no enthusiasm, no recommendations. Customers come to businesses to be treated well and enjoy their quality products. This place so far offered neither. I still gave the benefit of the doubt knowing the stereotypical Parisian attitude toward Americans.
After bagging our items, she proceeded to help the next English customer while smiling as he butchered his French. I guess I was expected to have tried pronouncing the items in French to get better service haha. One thing I appreciated at least was the clarification of the different fillings for one of the items I chose.
As for the food, the flavors were ok. We had pistachio and chocolate which was nice, an apple filling pastry which tasted natural, and a chorizo pastry which didnât hit the right notes albeit not warmed for us.
Overall, I would skip this place if youâre a tourist and go explore other bakeries. Located close to the Eiffel Tower and with a great score of 4.5/5 at the time of writing, you would think the service would be better even...
Read moreThis boulangerie is a must visit when you are in Paris! The decoration is very nicely done but the store is quite small so as the sitting area. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they speak English. Their products left me speechless, they are so beautifully made, so unique, fresh and very tasty! The prices were reasonable for the product that you get. I went there, on a weekday later in the morning. There was a short line and i didn't wait for long. I told them to bring me their top three and most popular pastries so i got the Chausson breton, the Cinnamon roll and the Cruffin with nutella. I also bought a sandwich. I was amazed by the unique flavors and the fresh dough and how balanced and well everything was! My favorite was the Chausson Breton, which they are the only ones in the area that they have it! The Cinnamon Roll was too bitter for my taste. The Cruffin with nutella was good. The sandwich was amazing! The baguette was so crunchy and fresh but also the ingredients in it too! After you get your order you should go and enjoy your pastries near the Eiffel Tower. I 100% recommend...
