This sleek, modern, sunny library is filled with 100,000+ books and all kinds of nooks and crannies where you can read and write in peace. There are a few [silent] communal writing spots (with plenty of plugs in the floor!) and in addition to the books on site, access to their vast e-collection is fantastic for research (JSTOR and EBSCO have been very helpful for me, in particular).
The library offers evening programs several times a month and their generous fellowships, book awards, and writer-in-residency programs help ensure that dozens of world-famous writers regularly come through to give talks and offer writing workshops to the public. There's also a lot of programming for kids of all ages--story time in the morning, a young adult creative writing festival, and a summer reading club for teens.
There's even a coffee machine up front next to hundreds of cookbooks which is great for expats who couldn't drag all of their beloved recipes to Paris.
What more could you ask for?? :)

Throughout this year, the library was closed for many months because of the pandemic. It was literally inaccessible, however they kept charging and did not prolong the memberships free of charge (many libraries did that in Paris). I understand the fact that it's a private library, not a state-funded one, however it's a very expensive one too. I was very disappointed by the fact that they could not prolong the memberships even for a couple of months, which could have been a great gesture, since they could not provide the service of a work-place. 100 euros went to garbage and there is no way...
Read moreI have spent a lot of time in this library over the past year for my last year of studies in Paris, and I have to say it was a really great place to work. The staff are all incredibly friendly, from the librarians to security, and the facilities available are good too. There are good seating areas to do some work, 2 ‘office’ styled rooms that you can book to work in private, and obviously, a huge collection of English language content, ranging from travel guides to archived magazines. I cannot recommend this place enough if you have work to do, or if you just fancy going to do some reading - it is a great environment for both. Thank...
