Greetings to the persons who prepared beef rib steak on the 15th of April. In this brasserie I got the worst food poisoning I have ever had in my life. Just to exclude possible stupid excuses I will start with clarifying that I do not have any allergies, I do not have "weak stomach", my healt condition is perfect, and in that day before this restaurant I ate only dry croissants and drank bottled water, so, nothing else to blame. The steak itself tasted like more or less normal, but nothing exceptional, too much parts with fat and some hard-bitten parts, but, ok, the cook cannot see inside of each piece, so, let it go. The most interesting started shortly afterwards, already when we went out of this restaurant I started feel some strange aftertaste of the steak in my throat. A bit later strange bowel cramps came. The night I spent on the bathroom floor, not in the bed. My stomach and my intestins were cleaning-out whole night and there were some moments when I was thinking that I would need to call an ambulance as I started to lose the contact with reality. Fortunately I do not have any health conditions and my body cleaned out this disgusting, poisonous steak. Steak was ordered well-done, so, I do not know how they managed to make this piece of meat poisonous. Probably was refrozen and defrozen several times, was kept somewhere in the garbage bin and/or soaked in the water of Seine river and in the last moment somebody took it out of the garbage bin and decided to give it to the guest, just to make some economies. I do not expect any action after my review as this restaurant has many good reviews from people who fortunatele were not fed with something poisonous. Bur remember one thing, dear owner, when your wonderful staff will make something like this with a person who has healt problems, this person will more likely finish in the morgue and instead of just a bad review you will...
Read moreMy wife and I are puzzled by the positive reviews for this restaurant. I generally decline to leave a bad review for any business - preferring to say nothing - but our meal was bad on nearly every measure. We started with the escargot that was wholly unremarkable. Then the "real" Caesars salad that was good(?) but not a Caesars salad as in not a hint of anchovy, for instance. What is "real" supposed to mean here? It was a decidedly non-Caesars salad experience. Then I had the beef chuck which is like a beef stew that was completely uninteresting. I was expecting a rich gravy that maybe incorporated some savory flavors and what I got was ordinary to be generous. And a tiny serving with a couple of potato pieces and mushrooms and one - yes one - pearl onion. It was hearty but bland. This and everything else we had were signature dishes, btw. Lastly my wife had the most expensive offering on the menu. The rib steak at, I think, 37 or 38 euro. She ordered it medium and it came out rare. Not medium rare, but rare. We sent it back - we had to - and it came back almost immediately still rare, just less so. Not that it mattered, it was thinner than an iPhone and tough (difficult to cut, chewed like bubble gum) and was all but unseasoned. It didn't include the marrowbone in the menu description. The bearnaise sauce was good but not nearly good enough to rescue the meal. We didn't finish this expensive signature steak even though I was still hungry and not feeling that particular at this point. The friendly busboy seemed genuinely embarrassed but nobody else cared.
Awful, just awful. And we went out of our way to eat here. My dish (the beef chuck) looked nothing like the photos I see posted here - small portion, no carrot, no garnish. Maybe they are good just inconsistent(?) which, for a restaurant, is "not good". Nobody in the kitchen was paying attention to the...

I've been to quite a few tourist traps in Paris and was completely underwhelmed by French Cuisine. I was expecting rubbery escargot and overcooked dry chicken but I was absolutely blown away by this restaurant.
The moment the appetizers came out we knew it was going to be a great meal.
We started with Escargot and Duck Foie Gras with Mango something (compote?). Third time eating escargot and I never knew it could be so tender. It had the classic cheesy pesto flavor. The Duck Foie Gras melted in your mouth and the mango topping was a great pairing.
For the main entrees we got Chicken something with a carrot puree sauce, Boeuf au Vin (beef + red wine + Potatoes + carrots), Langosteen Ravioli, and Tuna with roasted veggies. ^^ this list is in the order of what was most delicious.
Chicken was extremely tender and the carrot puree was lightly sweet and made a great pairing. Boeuf au Vin had the most intense rich flavor and everything in the pot was tender from the meat to the potatoes. The Langosteen Ravioli was light, delicious, and not overly salty, but there were only 4 pieces :/ it was good though! Last but not least came the tuna which came out seared and raw! If you like raw fish like sushi, this will be a good dish for you. It's sashimi with French flavors from the veggies and sauce.
For dessert we got the famous chocolate cake and vanilla rice pudding with granola. I personally like the rice pudding with granola more because the crispy crunch made the rice pudding truly delicious and it was not overly sweet but still had a lot of vanilla flavor. I liked it because it was the most unique. Everyone else in my family liked the chocolate cake the most which was also great
My mom got the salad but I didn't try. She really liked the anchovies sauce and thought it was...
