Came here on a Friday and it was pretty busy...there was a big group party. Didn't really appreciate our interaction with the first worker. He said to us it's full (and laughing at the same time). We looked and saw available tables so we were a bit confused. He kept repeating it's full (and laughing) but didn't actually say you can't sit down to eat. We stood there still a bit confused then the guy at the end near the register waved us to come down. Clearly we can see it's busy. Clearly we can see tables available. He thought he was being funny but he wasn't. We didn't find that funny one bit. We ordered 2 vegetarian plates. Both had rice, palak paneer, haricot vert...one had the white potatoes and one had the sweet potatoes. Our entire plate was lukewarm. The palak paneer sadly had ZERO paneer. Although we would have wanted a bit more flavor, it was on par for their customer base. We gave it a try based on the reviews and more than likely will not return.

The staff were warm and welcoming..The food options are many as you see on the display but the restaurant has a unique way of getting patrons to select options. Having travelled across the world this was unique, but not comfortable for me . The restaurant seems to be a fusion restaurant. The samosas - did not taste anything close to a samosa, the palak was ok, aloo was the best! The good part was making rotis in front of us . The sad part was the fact our dear friend’s bag was swiped right as we were sitting. The restaurant staff except for one person did not bat an eyelid or offer any assistance. They had one vague in conspicuous camera inside and made zero effort to help us . They continued their business as tho nothing happened! Having had food around this area, I will certainly prefer other Indian restaurants in the area.

Have always wanted to try Bollynan as they have good reviews. The concept is like a “traiteur” or take-away, you choose your plate and 2-3 choices of meat/veggie. The food was all made in advance and was heated at the counter in a microwave… Our plates were not even hot, though the flavour was okay, not terrible. However, the naan bread was HORRIBLE, I have never had a garlic naan this bad ever, as you can see in the photo, it was dry, flat, a bit burnt and no taste of garlic whatsoever. I brought it to the counter and asked if he gave me a nature naan instead? He was like, no it’s garlic naan… I saw a few pieces of like frozen garlic inside the bread and yeah 0 TASTE. For the concept, it wasn’t cheaper than a traditional Indian restaurant around. We def won’t be back.

I hadn’t been in the neighborhood in (many!) years but I’m a fan of Indian food so, naturally, when I found out that an Indian restaurant was right there, I wanted to give it a try.

At first, I was skeptical about the idea of mixing street food and Indian food (I usually love sitting and the whole ordering process) but these guys managed to do it in such a clever way!

The food itself is served directly from the “traiteur” area where the waiter can guide you and recommend based on your tastes. Which means you get the benefits of a buffet (you see what you order) but also of a more traditional restaurant (the food is fresh and not touched by other clients). The bread is also warmed up per order before serving, which is better than many buffets where the bread is warmed up constantly until you pick it up.

I found the quality of the food very good, especially at that price. My feeling is rather that I paid the street food price for restaurant-grade food. Which is a fantastic bargain for the customer! (Special mention for their home-made lassi—a real treat!)

The atmosphere of the room is far away from street food: it’s super cozy and comfy! But with a view on the street (the real street food part of it? :)), which gives an impression that you eat in the busy city while still enjoying the peaceful room of the restaurant.

The staff was friendly, warm, and welcoming, also helpful and willing to accommodate the new guest I was, showing me how to enjoy best my time with them. Which I did… and intend to...

If there was 0 star rating. I would give that..As a tourist at least you expect to be treated nicely..Unfortunately only one person knew a little English. It’s just shocking that you have an Indian restaurant in tourist spot and there’s absolutely no communication that is going to help the tourists. This is all secondary now the main part ..the Chef unfortunately I don’t know his name..I was ordering my stuff and the so called Chef randomly came and said ‘By the way you are three people so order 3 plates you can’t just have one plate and share it’ I was like excuse me? I hadn’t even started ordering what made you think I would take only one plate and share? It would be right to say that if I had ordered only one plate!! But you can’t just assume all customers do that and it’s completely embarrassing. The person who served the food just didn’t understand a little bit of English and poured half of the stuff I ordered onto all 3 plates..which is again a waste. I don’t understand how this restaurant has so many starts and how are people statisfied with this..No wonder when we went there were hardly 2 or 3 people.

Please save yourself and there are plenty of Indian Restaurants that are good by heart and also...

I am 100% Indian and this is not Indian food. This is not at all even close to Indian food. Very disappointed. On top of that, they claim to be Bollywood themed but the only music I heard was American and that too Justin Bieber.

Added after the response by the owner:

I am sorry if you didn't like my review. 100% Indian was just to convey that I know very well about different cuisines that are there in India. I just couldn't relate to the taste. My problem is not with spiciness of the food. I actually prefer less spicy food. I came with my local friends and they did not relate to the food as well. But then again if this concept is working for you, I wish you all the best. I have increased the rating too. I would definitely love to give it another try and try some other dishes. Maybe what I selected didn't suit my platter.

As for the music, a bit of Bollywood would be appreciated by your non Indian customers also. I understand the American music penetration everywhere but that's the point, you can give a complete experience. We have recently had pretty nice songs in india and not the cliche...
