This place felt very overrated. I was seated at the bar where the open kitchen is and had the pleasure to watch them operate. I had the octopus as a starter. It was very tough, under seasoned, and I received a mixture of small pieces that appeared to be scraps. To make matters worse I got to watch 5 more octopus plates go out that evening that had only 1 beautiful tentacle on them. My main plate was the skate wing. The chorizo was rendered to the point I couldn't cut it and was dry, tasteless, and almost burnt. Being a bone-in wing made it difficult to eat the apple that was underneath and to try the components together. The menu says it should feed 2 and it clearly does not. We spent 70 Euro on 2 drinks, and 2 plates. Way too much for what amounts to bar food.
Things that were good? The cocktail was great, service was friendly, and the one guy on the protein station was clearly busting his ass and cooking 80% of the food going out despite the Chef screwing around on his phone and the rest of the kitchen just...
Read moreBonhomie is an amazing restaurant in Paris in amongst a really lively street and neighbourhood. The waiters and managers are super friendly. Table reservation is done online.
The menu is ever changing and full of fresh ingredients with a Mediterranean twist.
The stand out of this restaurant for us were the cocktails. Super inventive and super flavoursome - that being said, I took one star off because the three appetisers arrived much earlier than our first drinks arrived. It’s not a huge issue but feel like it needs to be mentioned. It would have been nice to have drinks served with the food items alas we waited around 10 minutes after the first three items came to the table. Maybe something for the establishment to think about.
All the food was great and had some good unique flavours. The tuna had kaffir like throughout the dish which brought some great fresh flavours.
The standout cocktail was the Bloody Mary which was spiced with...
Read moreWe visited Paris over the New Year and discovered your restaurant in the book "Paris - City Guide For Design Lovers" and were keen to visit you. I made a reservation for our first evening, because we were blown away by your menu (and we both love cauliflower). As we entered the restaurant, we felt at home immediately: the overall concept, the interior, the open kitchen, the long bar counter, the friendly staff and last but not least the familiar atmosphere gave us a very special feeling from the very first second. After the excellent dinner, we went over to your bar, where we stayed for hours and enjoyed the best espresso martini in town. We enjoyed the evening with you so much that we definitely wanted to come back. On our last evening in Paris, we...
