An absolutely magnificent experience. I had been entertaining the idea of returning to Lutetia's brasserie since a while, having been to the establishment before the hotel closed for renovation works, while I was a student at Sorbonne, and seeing there Jane Birkin; and this week visiting Paris to attend Roland Garros I decided that that was the moment as I wanted to make my day really special - and how very special it turned out to be indeed! I don't even know where to start and what words to employ, as everything was divine, perfect and largely exceeded even my extremely high expectations. Food was great; the variety of it, the quality of it, even the look(s) of it!.. I really enjoyed the "classic" pastries (plain croissant and pain au chocolat), as well as the salad and preserves (the latter really make concurrence to the preserves served at London's Hide restaurant, and the Hide ones are as good as any loving mom or grandma would make at home, if not better). Eggs can be prepared to your taste (which already is great); I opted for a medium cooked omelette and it was very good. Butter comes with a very cute Lutetia-logo stamp. Unexpectedly, though, what I liked the best were the chia seeds with coconut milk. I have never been a particular fan of the combo and I still wonder what made me try them on this occasion, but the ones that are served at Lutetia are mindblowingly good; I just couldn't put the pot aside although I was already feeling quite full. Tea was served with fresh slices of lemon which for me is the best way to accompany/drink the tea, and I highly appreciated it. The service was splendid, too. Everyone was very nice, kind, courteous and attentive; I was checked multiple times throughout the breakfast if everything was fine and/or if I needed anything. A big thank you for that! The interior design is very lovely as well; the indoor space was full of day light and the little montgolfières reminded me of the ones at the Ile de la Cite's Flower's market, which is one of my favourite spots in Paris. Overall my only regret is that I came on my own as I would have absolutely loved to share my experience with my partner or a close friend - so, so, so good my experience at Lutetia was!.. I want to sincerely thank everyone from Lutetia's team for making my breakfast so unforgettable and I'm certainly coming back soon and bringing my loved...
Read moreWas super hurt by rude manager and the way they handled the situation . We were put together with another client of 4 in a large table directly right next to each other during pandemic. The hotel staff allowed the client to walk up to us directly and made a very uncomfortable comment to us. the management did not handle the situation like a 5 star hotel. We paid for services and not to put together on a share table like canteen especially during pandemic. if there is at least one seat apart from us, we wouldn’t mind at all, but our family had to sit directly next to them... there should be some kind of apologies from the management for the way they dealt with the situation. the correct way to deal with this is 1) should’ve just put 2 people next to ours with at least one seat apart from each other. 2) should’ve never let the new client come to us directly and made a very uncomfortable comment to us . 3) there were original 2 seats but the bald server think that it was ok to put people so close to strangers during pandemic (directly right next to each other) 4) should have profusely apologized and arrange for new seat. I will continue to fight until I get a well...
Read moreMy sister took me and my 92 year old aunt to dinner at this wonderful restaurant. We had a fabulous waiter, Clement, who was patient with us which we really appreciated. My aunt loves oysters and was totally delighted to be able to have 6 all to herself, while we had onion soup which we think is a treat too. We had a glass of Sancerre each suggested by Clement which was crisp clean and chilled. My aunt and I had tuna tataki and my sister had seasonal vegetables spicy salsa and couscous. Everything was delicious. There was low level inoffensive pop music playing in the background which was fine. The interior is quite traditional but very comfortable. A beautiful hot air ballon sculpture display with fairy lights really set a nice tone in the centre of the restaurant. We had an incredible profiterole dessert which we had to wait a while for - I think to wait for it to defrost! Hot chocolate sauce was poured on top to aid the defrosting I’m sure. It tasted incredible though so happy days!! All in all a wonderful wonderful evening, Tasty quality ingredients served with grace and panache by Clement. A bit pricey but it was the evening we wanted...
