We chose the hotel primarily due to its location in St. Germain, which is walking distance to a lot of attractions. However, there didn't appear to be a lot of accessible coffee shops, patisseries etc. nearby for something quick and easy. Most places we wanted to go to were at least 0.5 miles away. We walked quite a lot on this trip. It is near a metro line which is convenient, but not very accessible from the CDG airport. You may want to try flying into Orly instead which is at least closer to the hotel if you need a taxi.
Although the hotel lobby and shared spaces were attractive, the room itself is outdated and needs updating. The bed was comfortable enough. We upgraded to a city view, but given that all the buildings are close and around the same height - we were basically looking into other people's apartments. We stayed on the 4th floor. The rooms do appear to be somewhat sound proof, which I appreciated since I'm a light sleeper. The complementary water bottle was also a nice touch. The shower was nice as well. I think two soaps should be provided at all times if possible - one for your hands and the other for your body. The toiletries provided weren't exactly for two people, so we had to ask for more soap. There isn't an iron and ironing board in all the rooms, so you have to ask for it if needed. The lights on one side of thr room did not function very well and had a tendency to flicker when on. We didn't bring it up since we were generally okay with the lighting on the other side of the room, but this is something that should get fixed. The smoke detector was also barely hanging onto the cieling above our bed. It never fell but looked like it was about to - this should be secured as well.
The hotel team is fantastic. They are very friendly and always willing to help. The front desk gets very busy but they take the time to assist. And they are very responsive. The cleaning of the rooms was okay. They always got it done quickly and were very nice. However I'm not really sure if the carpeted floors were always vaccumed. And there were items forgotten each time the room was cleaned - once they forgot to leave small towels and the second time, they left their cleaning towel behind.
After spending a lot of money eating out at restaurants, I would have preferred staying someplace with complementary breakfast. The 19 euro charged for breakfast here (per person) is about what you would pay at a cafe. We didn't try the breakfast.
Given the timing of our trip, which was when changes were being made to the health pass situation, it would have been helpful if the hotel was more up to date on what was happening and was able to provide more tips on what to do. Understandably everyone was waiting on more information from the government, but even just by asking the non-EU customers how they were dealing with the situation may have provided helpful tips to future customers. The pharmacies will not convert your non-EU vaccination card into a health pass. You will need to get covid tested every two days in Paris or process an application for the conversion (which I suggest you do prior to your trip). For the most part, places are okay with accepting your vaccination card, but this could change.
Overall, this is a decent hotel which provides the basics and good...
Read moreI wanted to write a thorough review of this hotel. I, like most of us, had to wait a while to travel and I regularly checked reviews on this hotel after we had confirmed our reservation because I wanted to keep up with what people thought of it. I'll write down as much as I can within reason and be as honest as I can.
We landed in Paris on a rainy Tuesday morning at 7am and made it to this hotel by about 9:45am. We were understandably exhausted, but were overjoyed when Cedric at the front desk told us our room was ready! Cedric made our check in a breeze and was very pleasant. We had prepaid so all we had to pay at the hotel were city taxes, which Cedric took happily and sent us on our way. Our room was on the 7th floor.
The elevators were very slow, but they still worked as needed. We stayed in room 705, which was at the end of the hall. Initially I thought our room would be a little spacious, but it was not. It was a small room, with just one glass put out on the table (there were two glasses in the bathroom, however). My husband -- who has a knack for finding things that are faulty even when he doesn't want to -- thought he had broken the closet-wardrobe-thing, but it turned out to just be a little funky. The right side of the room had an angled ceiling, which was fine for me (standing at 5'2") but my nearly 6ft husband banged his head basically any chance he got lol.
The view out the balcony was nice! But i can see why other reviewers complained about the view not being worth it. Since we were up high enough we could see beyond the buildings and across the city. The bathroom was narrow, but that's to be expected in a European hotel and not worth critiquing. The toilet had the biggest flusher either of us had ever seen. The shower didn't keep the temperature consistent. The bed was comfortable, but we were also exhausted. There was no ice bucket in the room, which meant no ice machine we could get to, which was disappointing. My husband's night stand light went out the third night. The light in the mini fridge went on and off like a mini rave. Our second to last day we got the hotel breakfast for a whopping 19€ per person. It was okay.
Overall we were pleased with this hotel. Our experience was great, the staff were super friendly, and all the little things can be shrugged off as just that -- little things. It's a wonderful hotel for tourists in a neat little area with some shopping and a great pharmacy...
Read moreExcellent Hotel, Deeply Disappointing Breakfast
This hotel presents a stark contrast between its quality accommodations and its inadequate breakfast service, resulting in a merely satisfactory three-star experience.
The Pluses: Exceptional Design and Service ✨ The location is great. Our room, while not huge, was perfectly sized for our stay and felt recently renovated with noticeable attention to detail and style. We particularly loved the harmonious and thoughtful combination of colours and forms. The reception staff is exceptionally helpful. When we requested a thinner blanket due to the changing weather, they quickly provided extra sheets as an alternative solution. This level of service was outstanding.
The Minuses: Lackluster and Inflexible Breakfast (apparently à la carte, instead of buffet) The breakfast was the major flaw and a significant disappointment. Out of four mornings, we skipped breakfast three times, only drinking the fresh orange juice. The set menu, in my opinion, caters to local tastes and lacks basic healthy options. The bakery choices (pastry and bread) are entirely white. When I expressed my need for whole grain options, I was offered white toast and gluten-free white bread—there was absolutely nothing in whole grain, which left me hungry. The lack of flexibility is frustrating; you cannot, for example, choose a salad and eggs, as the options are mutually exclusive. Furthermore, getting fresh fruit was difficult; my husband’s fruit salad contained mostly apples and some other unripe, unidentified fruits. The repeated failure to serve fresh peppermint tea correctly (despite specifically noting the need for no caffeine) was the most frustrating service issue. I am uncertain whether this was due to a language barrier with the head server or a lack of interest/training. Due to the à la carte system, service was as a whole super hectic.
It strongly seemed as though management was saving money on the breakfast offerings. The quality and variety simply did not match the standards set by the hotel's rooms and reception service.
In summary, the beautiful rooms and wonderful reception staff are let down badly by the poor, inflexible, and disappointing breakfast service. Guests who value good, healthy breakfast options should perhaps look for a...
