Musée Maillol — Attraction in Paris

Could not get into d’Orsay due to being disorganised lol, and stumbled upon this cute small museum. What a relief! Loved the photos (even tho, be warned, this museum aggressively over-indexes on naked women! Tiresome in this year of 2025, but we move.)

What really struck me was this image (attached): three individuals, clearly of equal visual hierarchy. Yet the museum only names the two men. A quick Google reveals the unnamed woman is Suzanne Duchamp, a brilliant Dadaist artist in her own right.

She wasn’t just Marcel’s sister - she exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants, played a key role in the Dada movement, and created radical, multi-media work that interrogated war, identity, and power.

To the museum: this is lazy. Do better. Feature more women - including with clothing. Credit more women....

The reviews below are right. Not many things in English (which makes no sense for the POP art exhibition), no pictures are allowed (see my picture below muahaha), and it's an OK exhibition. The picture thing makes no sense, the security people are after that other than actually taking care of the works of art. I saw children almost climbing on the cigarettes sculpture! I saw the permanent exhibition last year so I didn't even bother going up there (not a Maillol fan myself). I do think that the rooms are REALLY small and the curators should know better when placing text in high transit areas! Plus, I've seen many more well-known works of art by Warhol, Lichtenstein and Oldenburg. Not my favorite pieces at Maillol. What I enjoyed the most was an 1980...

I just visited the museum maillol😜😯 Absolutely magnifique 😍🙏🏽.... This New Expo about the French Photographer 👍😉 Robert Doisneau. Is picture are breath talking...👻😜😯 So natural.. he was really someone Who had deep expression about is picture, Life in general 🇨🇵😜👻😂 And also good relation with people in general...😁😃😀...is legacy will be there for years to come..👍🙏🏽👍🙏🏽👍.... And Muse Maillol is so beautiful 😍
