Café Milou Bastille — Restaurant in Paris

Horrible experience. I booked a table through their website and received confirmation, but upon arrival, the rude waiter claimed I hadn’t booked. Even after I showed proof, he dismissed it, blaming a colleague for not informing him. Then, he told me that the kitchen wouldn’t open until noon (it was 11:45).

So I asked if I could order a drink while waiting, and he condescendingly replied, "Exceptionally, I’ll allow it" (as if I had asked for something unreasonable).

When I went to the bar to order cappuccinos and returned upstairs, this waiter followed me quickly, demanding in a very aggressive and imposing tone to know what I had ordered. (Instead of asking his colleague).

I reassured him that the barman had taken the order, but he continued speaking to me rudely. I directly asked him why he was being so aggressive, to which he responded that it was only my perception (instead of having the decency to at least apologize)

Both my friend and I felt very uncomfortable and even a bit traumatized by this man’s behavior.

I wouldn’t return if this man is still working there. A part from that the...

The place is well located, but the overall experience leaves much to be desired. The staff is unfriendly, and their attitude while serving is quite unpleasant—it’s clear they are uncomfortable, which creates an awkward atmosphere.

On the outdoor terrace, they place an excessive number of tables and chairs, to the point where they take over the sidewalk. Pedestrians pass so close that they can even bump into your table and move it with your things on it.

Overall, the service is poor. The food is average at best, and the dessert I ordered was poorly prepared.

Although they do have English-speaking staff, the place itself is in need of serious renovation. The decor and atmosphere feel neglected and outdated.

The location is great! If the weather is nice, sitting on the patio and seeing the sights and sounds of Bastille is great.

We came for breakfast and was pretty disappointed with the food. We got eggs and toast and the eggs were sitting in a pool of liquid which makes me think the eggs were reheated, which causes the moisture to escape. The temperature of the eggs was also really hot on top but lukewarm in the middle.

The eggs and toast was 14 euros which to me was not worth it given the quality.

Service was good and the atmosphere is great but I wouldn’t come back...
