I am a trained photographer and a cinephile, for starters. When visiting Paris I like to see a lot of movies, especially those that are in French and those that are not released in the USA.
The tickets are quite reasonable even if you just buy one. I like to get the 'carte' that has either 5 or 7 tickets. These are the best since the cost per film is greatly reduced. And here's something I learned (by mistake): you only can get the 7 shows ticket deal online.
Now, especially in the summer, there are tons of movies being shown all the time and mk2 has a number of locations in Paris. Depending on the time of day you choose to go (films start as early at 10AM) you will find that there are hardly any long standing lines, no crowding in the theater and the places are air-conditioned. Note that the theater spaces usually are on the smaller scale and not like those ampitheaters you might know if you see movies in the USA.
I like going early since the days are long here, and I have been visiting Paris for years now, so going to the famed tourist spots are only for me if there are special exhibitions being shown.
As a note, the showtime is when they start the ads/previews! Those usually last about 15 minutes before the feature starts. AND! I even went to one theater that had the 'toilettes' in the actual theater. I think that was exceptional, and probably because of...
Read moreItâs really the worst cinema in Paris. Doing a line outside (because there was a sign to do so) while so many people were already entering the room. I was the second in line but somehow when I entered the room was full, when some people complained about the lack of organization to the staff they laughed in their faces? Makes no sense.
also, THERES NO VENTILATION, not only lack of AC but really no ventilation. Just avoid this, go to gaumont PathĂ©, youâll have the best experience, itâs worth...
