I hosted my wedding reception in their underground cave, which was an amazing setup with good food. However, I was disappointed and offended by the lack of professionalism in how they treated their clients and acknowledged their requests.
Despite synchronizing with the commercial representative on all the details, the information was not relayed to the staff. Even after multiple follow-ups and personally visiting the location twice before the wedding day, there was still a lack of communication and confusion. It's expected that a restaurant experienced in organizing such events would be well-prepared, but that was not the case here.
They refused to allow us to bring our own wedding cake from a reputable bakery, citing food safety regulations, which was understandable. However, they imposed a hefty fee for the cake and confirmed via email that it could be made according to the design we provided. On the wedding day, we were presented with a birthday cake instead. When we raised this issue, the general manager not only failed to show any remorse or apology, but also implied that I was lying. According to him, he had informed me over the phone the day before the wedding that the cake would not be as ordered, and I had supposedly agreed without arguing about it.
We paid 400 EUR for a cake meant to serve 40 people, and it was not the cake we ordered, despite the confirmation in writing. I requested a refund, but, unsurprisingly, it was not accepted.
As the bride, I have severe allergies to certain vegetables and ingredients. We had agreed via email that a special appetizer would be served to accommodate my dietary needs. However, the kitchen staff had no knowledge of this arrangement and hastily prepared something at the last minute. Unfortunately, the appetizer contained two vegetables to which I am allergic. When I brought this to the attention of the floor manager, who only checked on us twice throughout the entire evening, instead of taking immediate action to rectify the situation, he responded with an attitude and started mumbling.
To be honest, I would think twice before choosing this venue to organize any special event in the future, despite the great food and setup. A negative customer experience can overshadow even the best aspects of an event and leave a lasting...
Read moreAside from the good dessert, the service and food here is incredibly disappointing.
I was very excited to dine here with my mother since this was our first visit to Paris. The hostess was kind, but once seated the service was slow and substandard. However, the table next to us was being served at a more reasonable pace.
We ordered the burger and braised beef which were both underwhelming. What was most disappointing and upsetting was when my mother kindly asked for ketchup and the food runner just stared at my mother, said nothing, and walked away. No alert to our server or anything, and ketchup was never brought. I don’t care what the reason was for her to ignore us, but there is no reason for her to not alert another person if she couldn’t understand or if she just didn’t want to help since we didn’t speak much French.
Not to mention that there was another non-French couple behind us, and the server was speaking very loudly, almost shouting, at them explaining the menu because they did not speak French. Very unprofessional and lacking in hospitality, but I’m not surprised unfortunately.
I’ve had a handful of very kind interactions with other Parisian businesses, but this one was not it. I would not recommend dining here if...
Read moreMaybe we went on an off day for the chef, since others reviewed the food positively, but I have to say we had the worst food in Paris for as far back as we can remember! To start, the 2 small breads they gave in a bag were stale and hard to chew. My pork Jarret was borderline disgusting and the worst I've ever, ever had, hands down! I order this dish often because it's one of my favorites so I should know what it should taste like. At Louise, it tasted like it had been defrosted then was boiled in water for too long, then they threw a breaded coating on top because the dish says it's "pané" but in fact it was a coating of a soggy mess. My partner had an overcooked piece of fish (bar) that was clearly also defrosted and he ate it only because he was starving. Thank goodness I ordered a side of fries but that was also not crispy but more like cooked potatoes in lots of oil. At 8€, it was totally overpriced for a side dish. Waitress was kind and very efficient, but could smile more. Sorry Louise but never again. At least definitely not for food! We will instead go for another of the many...
