Cave Arthus et Jean - Caviste/Dégustation - Paris 3ème Marais — Restaurant in Paris

My fiancé and I came in to this wine cave through a tour from Paris by Mouth and had such a delightful experience. Jean welcomed us into his underground grotto style, wine cellar, and recommended two wonderful bottles to go with our French cheeses. After our tour was done, we loved the spot so much so that we returned to have another bottle, and buy another bottle through Jeans recommendations. Furthermore, the space was intimate, warm and cozy, and while down there, I dropped on one knee and PROPOSED TO GF. The moment presented itself, and it was just right.

We walked by and decided to try the wine tasting in a whim, and could not have been happier with our decision !

Jean took us through four incredible wines, he had a really cool and unassuming attitude about it all that made us feel super welcome. We spent an hour and a half chilling and chatting downstairs in the cellar, it was an extremely friendly experience all for 20 euro.

Its not every day that you walk into a cave à vin, admit that you don’t know much about wine, are made to feel so comfortable and leave having learned loads of new stuff !

I can’t recommend this place enough. We walked in wanting to buy some good French wine and found ourselves not only having the Mia amazing wine but also getting educated on French wine! Arthus is so knowledgeable and at the same time so nice and makes you feel like you are at your friends house getting the best recommendations on French wine!
