The cinnamon bun was well made and filling, the service was fast, polite and kind. The staff worked efficiently and with cleanliness and engaged the customers. However, I came for the coffee.
I work with Coffee Collective and know the potential of this amazing coffee. I was disappointed every step of the way. The Kalita was very, very dry and failed to deliver on any of the expected flavors. Surprisingly, it tasted better hot than warm. The guest espresso was well extracted and sweet but very oily. I attribute it to the roaster/bean rather than the barista. The oat cappuccino was made with a shot of Coffee Collective espresso but the oat milk that was used is so intensely sweet it overpowers any coffee you would use.
The thing that was a bit bizarre to me came after I paid and gave feedback to the staff. I was visiting the city for just a few days and asked: what coffee place should I try before I go? Not one but two of the staff first said they had no idea about any other coffee shops in the city (where do you go on your day off???) but finally recommended a place to me that turned out to be a shop for equipment, tea, and a lot of non-specialty coffee. The business card was on the counter, so I guess there's a relationship between the businesses.
All in all not a good experience and for a shop that won 'Best Coffee in Paris' in 2017, not what I...
ย ย ย Read moreFringe is, without question, the best coffee shop Iโve visited anywhere in the world. Across all the cities and countries Iโve explored, no espresso compares to theirs, itโs simply unmatched. Their attention to quality and flavor is extraordinary, and the care they put into their coffee is evident with every sip.
Beyond their exceptional coffee, Fringe offers something rare and luxurious in Paris: a variety of vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free food options. Finding such inclusivity in this city feels like an indulgence, and they execute it with style and taste.
Adding to the magic is the story behind Fringe. Itโs owned by a jazz and photography enthusiast, and their passion shines through in the cozy, artistic atmosphere. The space feels like a perfect blend of creativity, community, and culinary excellence.
If youโre in Paris, Fringe is an absolute must-visit. Itโs not just a coffee shop; itโs an experience, and one you wonโt...
ย ย ย Read moreI truly wanted to like this place! looked it up beforehand, did my research and had high hopes-I was on the hunt for a top-notch iced latte in a world of espressos and was told this was the place! staff were fun and chatty but for the price paid I would have expected at least a somewhat chilled beverage in the 30 plus degree heat. all I received was a lukewarm tea and lemonade that gave me little to no refreshment in the sweltering heat. I would have preferred if the staff had simply said that they had run out of ice or were unable to serve cold beverages, which is what I assumed was the problem. instead they proceeded to charge a hefty amount for something which one can only describe as tepid. will unfortunately not be hurrying back and I think it is fair to say a little more transparency is needed with customers if people are expected to pay almost 20 euros in total for a few half-filled coffee...
