Chez Ramona — Restaurant in Paris

I love love love the paella there. When I was in Paris for a week, I went there for dinner 2 times. They don't have a huge menu, and I tried to order calamari both times. But they just don't have it even on the days where we were one of the first customers for dinner. I think it just depends on what they buy. The star of the restaurant is really the paella. It's the best paella I have ever had in my life. It is even better than the ones I had in Spain. Also, Chef Ramona puts a lot of seafood in the paella. It's great portions with great prices. Also, they only make a certain amount of paella each day even though we went to the restaurant before it was closed. They were not serving customers anymore. Definitely try to call in advance to reserve spots or go...

Was so happy to stumble upon Chez Ramona's paella in a traditional humble restaurant in Paris. Would increase spice level for more kick. The best part is at the bottom of the pan where all the seafood deliciousness collects. Scrape that thing out for the real treat. The oysters and prawns are so fresh that it has a slight sweet aftertaste. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

4/5 Fried (beignet) calamari, tho the batter doesn't really stick, I feel like you can't go wrong with fresh fried calamari. Not much salt, just plainly fried.

Déjà très mauvais accueil, personne ne nous dit bonjour, on rechigne a nous installer alors que la salle en haut est vide et que nous avions réservé. On nous fait changer de table en cours de service parce que l'installation ne convenait pas au serveur, qui lance des regards déplaisants tout le long du service, il nous ignore 3 fois avant de finir par nous dire qu'il n'ont plus la moitié des plats à la carte et il nous donne son carnet pour qu'on note nous même notre commande. On note qu'il accueille beaucoup plus chaleureusement les habitués arrivés après nous. Les plats arrivent 1 par 1, dans le désordre (pas terrible du tout pour un repas en groupe) et il nous tend pichets et plats sans les poser lui-même sur la table. Depuis le rez-de-chaussée, on entend la propriétaire lui hurler dessus toute la soirée, et lui hurler en réponse depuis la salle. Service affreux du début à la fin. Bref, avec une telle expérience, si je n'avais pas été en groupe, je serais partie dès le début. Dommage parce que la paella elle même est bonne, mais du coup on ne m'y reverra...
