Atmosphere: beautifully and thoughtfully put together by a talented architect.
I’m a visitor of the institute for years now. The rooftop used to be more accessible for all visitors. It seems now that it is only limited for a certain type of group the restaurant wants to aim at. A shame for the institute. Though very much affordable for me but not an option for anybody. Despite the interior design it lacks a soul.
Service: not friendly. Not welcoming. Lot of effort just to make reservations. Booking a hotel room is less effort than this. They ask for too much personal information. Comes with a dress code. This is fine if it’s your thing but come on…couscous should be eaten on the ground with your family at one table. This high class haute couture misplaced exploited version of the Moroccan kitchen is heartbreaking. The people working there are not in it for the love of the food. The two ladies at the reception seemed decent though. The bill includes extra charges. Be careful.
Food: above points can always be forgiven, except for the lack of hospitality and the bad quality food. I disapprove the food to be called Moroccan. It lacks the proper ingredients, generous servings and flavours are bland. None of it tastes as anything close to home. It’s a disgrace for any Moroccan Mima (mother) and our ancestors. It’s a pain to witness the Moroccan kitchen being exploited for the mere wish to belong to some upper class soulles niche. It’s not close to anything Moroccan I have ever eaten before.
The concept of a son tributing a restaurant to his mom is a lovely gesture. But more than a gesture it will not be unless they seriously improve the way they treat customers and most importantly: bring real Moroccan food to the table.
I would not recommend to eat here if you want to taste the Moroccan kitchen. Ask any Moroccan mother, father, aunty or uncle and they will be more than happy to welcome you in their home for a true taste of our authentic Moroccan kitchen.
Stop abusing our couscous and na3na3...
Read moreWe had such nice vibes at the beginning entering the restaurant with this nice design and amazing view from the terrace, but those high vibes were over quite soon. The waiter was initially arrogant, obviously he doesn’t like his job and doesn’t feel comfortable serving people. When we started to order drinks, apart from the alcohol cocktail we asked for a carafe d’eau and were quite rudely explained that this option is not available and we can only order bottle water. A bit weird not to be able to have simple water in the restaurant, but ok. Then we ordered 2 starters and 3 plats for 3 people. The food is ok, but nothing really special, the meat in all main dishes was overcooked, dry (we tried fish, chicken, meat balls). When our 4th friend joined us and wanted to order just a side dish or a starter we were explained that she is obliged to order the main dish with the statement « it is a restaurant »! Sorry guys, but I’ve been in the top restaurants including Michelin all around the world and if in the company of four 1 person doesn’t feel like eating a lot or on a special diet, the restaurant never puts pressure on the client. Or at least make sure to inform your clients about all your strict rules during the reservation process. Anyway this guest didn’t want to face the waiter attitude and went to talk to the restaurant manager trying to agree not to be obliged to order a main dish and be able to order something lighter. The manager agreed with the statement « ok, I can see you are not from Paris and doesn’t know the rules.. ».. What does this statement mean in this case? «We are sorry that you don’t know the rules of the restaurant » would be enough, it’s always better to avoid any discrimination. By that time the waiter, manager, guests were freaked out and I preferred to wrap it all up in a diplomatic way and to leave the place asap. Overall the evening was...
Read moreA real scandal! Shameful…. The most terrifying restaurant. Organisation 0/10 , Costumer service 0/10 , staff education 0/10 , reservation respect 0/10 . Since last week that i have reserved a table for 7 persons for a surprise birthday on Saturday evening 22/4/2023 at 20:30 , they have had called me 8 or 9 times during this week to change the time. Each time they have called, they proposed different hour. Once 19h instead of 20h30. The other time 20h, after 20h15, again 20h and after 22h and at the end 20h30 and the last time, they have called at 21:45 to say that finally your reservation could be confirm at 19:30 (because we do have only two staff services and we did mistake.) Spite , i have received the reservation confirmation by emails days before for 20:30. I have asked the staff to pass the phone to their manager and they have refused. The last moment changement was impossible for us because in the civilised country that we are living (france) we have to organise things from days before. like organising the baby sitter for the kids etc. The staff have blocked me to talk to the manager (many times i asked) and they didn’t accept to welcome us for the time that they have confirmed with us days before. They did harassment for calling me every day for more than 8 , 9 times in one week. And they have changed our planing just two days before the reservation.
They have just ruined in our night… I don’t know how i could find a restaurant on a Saturday evening at 20h15 p.m. to...
