Tonight we visited Distrito Francés after a recommendation from our airbnb host. We found the service to be exceptional, and all staff were very friendly. The restaurant manager even helped translate the menu for my wife and i. I speak some french, my wife speaks none. We ordered the chips and guac appetiser, which was really good and spicy. The home made chips were 3 delicious mexican flavours (plain corn chip, chili chip, cactus chip i believe). We each ordered the 3 taco meal, my wife ordered the pork taco, and I the beef taco. We both really enjoyed our meals The service was pleasant and fast. Almost too fast, as we weren't able to finish our appetizer. Contrary to the comment below with 2 stars, i found the taco portions were very reasonable, and did not leave feeling grossly full nor empty. The pork taco was perfectly cooked, while the beef taco was a little bit on the tough side, but the sauce and small size if each peice made it not very noticeable. Pricing is similar to what we would expect from a 'mom and pop' shop back home in Canada. 11€ for 3 unique tacos is...
Read moreThe day I found this place, my life actually changed. I am not kidding. I am a mexican expat living in paris, I am not specially fond of mexican food (as in, I love it, but I don't have it that often since I grew up on it) but I have to say, this place, is hands down the BEST mexican food place in Paris (maybe even in Europe entirely, still on the lookout for a better mexican place).
They have chilaquiles!!!!! And they are so so so so good, super spicy, very crunchy, and just super well made. Their taco combinations are mind bogglingly tasty, their burritos are huge, their quesadillas are pretty accurate, their pecan pie is fabulous. And the best part, they have authentic and really good tequila! So, you know their cocktails are really really good. It is the ONLY place I recommend any friends, family or people I know when they ask me about good mexican food. I can not tell you how many people I have brought there, I am definitely a regular (once a month or more if more visitors/friends)...
Read moreWhat a find for me! I've missed good Mexican food since moving to France, so when I saw this restaurant near where we were visiting, we definitely had to try it. Very glad we did! I started with a pisco sour, which was authentically prepared and delicious! We had corn chips and guacamole as a starter, and we were impressed with the nice corn flavour of the chips and the excellent guacamole. We went the taco route for mains, with spiced pork and a sweet potato/beetroot veggie option, which were served with sauces, and a specially requested habañero sauce, which was Impressively hot, but also with good flavour. The tacos were delicious, and we had a Mexican Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chilean Carmenere with them. We finished with a truly fudgey chocolate pie and a delicious pecan pie, which was not too sweet... The staff were attentive and friendly, so thank you very much...
