I was denied entry because the 2 bouncers were saying that, supposedly, were 2 birthdays happening (which I confirmed it was not true) and the location was not at full capacity. These two (unfriendly) chaps were inviting to go to another bar down the road. I mean… it’s a bit against your own business to send people to other bars, especially when your bar is not at full capacity, right? I guess you can make your own conclusions but yeah… A pity because I’ve been here lots of time in the past and it’s one of the best places in Paris. Better go to the sister bar about the corner, at Rue de Keller, or the Black Dog and the Hellfest Corner (both located in the Châtelet/Les Halles area - 15 minutes walk). The music was also very good covering a lot of rock sub- genres. The personnel spoke good English (which is rare in Paris) and was pleasant and willing everytime I addressed them.
