The food was alright, but the team effort here is impressive. For a cafe in Paris, this place is actually very spacious, with plenty of outdoor seating, a lengthy bar, and several couches, and a foosball table if that strikes your fancy. We were here one night when it was pouring outside. The outdoor seating area was covered with glass doors and an awning, but the rain coming down was forcing the awning to cave in. That whole area was starting to flood, so the guests moved inside. Meanwhile, the staff, including bartenders and waitresses, rushed out there to get brooms and anything with enough reach to push the water off of the awning and onto the street. Some of the water still forced its way in, drenching the staff members. As the rain came down relentlessly, their efforts seemed futile, but I respect their dedication.
19.50€ Planche Mixte - Swiss, Comte, brie, and prosciutto, salame, jambon with cornichons and lettuce leaves , and baguette: Our sweet waitress told us that the charcuterie and cheese board would be plenty of food for two people. The meats and cheeses were not bad, but it whet our appetite for more. The waitress was amused by our rather surprisingly large appetites.
11.50€ Croque Madame - ham and cheese sandwich with fried egg, lettuce leaves, and small basket of fries: A decent sandwich with a crunchy, crispy cheese on the outside. The fried egg had a nice, runny middle, but I would have liked it if the edges of the egg white weren't dried up, and also would have been nice if the egg was fused into the sandwich to form one entity, instead of an eggg lying atop of a sandwich. The fries were okay, but the salad was just a little wilted.
6.70€ Pink Paloma, Saint Germain Spritz, Pear Fizz: The drinks we ordered were very reasonably priced. Very light and refreshing, nothing crazy, but they did come with glow-in-the-dark straws. Interesting touch.
Originally we came for a couple of drinks and snacks, but once it started raining, we decided to delay our exit, and ended up eating a...
Read moreMy partner and I went there very early, just to have a quick and simple breakfast, as there was no one at the door, just 2 staffs behind the bar, we just set at the table in front the entrance thinking someone would came to take the orders, but they just kept behind the bar chatting with another costumer and looking at us without saying nothing, after a while we had to stand I go there, as we were in a rush, and even being written in our faces that we did not know how to do the order properly seems they did care about it and just left us there waiting. Come on, if you don’t wanna go to the table to take our order, at least give a shout or give us the directions where we could do it right. Obviously was not something regular to get your breakfast at the table there and totally overpriced to pay 19.00$ for 2 croissant, 1 cappuccino and 1 coke. Beside that, the girl behind the counter were very polite and gentle...
Read moreWe went to this place during the "after work rush hour". We were seated and waited for over 20 min until somebody came to clean our table and take our order - the waiter said "well you're seated in this faraway corner"... It's not like we chose our table? Once we ordered, the service was quicker. Waiter served water glasses and drinks while touching the rim of the glasses, which I find very unprofessional and unhygienic. The tables with sofas are not great for eating, because the sofas are too low for the tables and the chairs are a bit too high. Overall not very comfortable, weird ambiance and service could have been much improved. Food was...
