Five Guys Burgers and Fries Bercy Village — Restaurant in Paris

What a disappointment!!!! We've waited quite a while to finally go to Five Guys since they started opening branches in Paris, figuring after a few months the place would be less crowded. We finally did go and immediately regretted it. Staff is not very friendly but hey we are in Paris, so no big surprise there being used to it. The first thing that struck us were the very high prices, 11 euros for a bacon cheeseburger, holy moly! But since we thought that it would be as good as in the US we decided that it might be worth the price. IT ISN'T!!!!! Soggy bun, actually the whole burger was soggy. I wonder if my bun was even toasted at all. The whole thing was just a greasy, soggy unsavoury mess. To top everything of, the place was dirty as hell! While we were waiting for our burgers to be prepared we looked behind de counter and there were fries scattered all over the floor and fried bits hanging all over the fryers. The floor was so greasy that I almost slipped several times. The grease tenaciously stuck to our shoes on our way home. We had to watch not to slip in the subway. You'll eat way better at a McDonald's or Burger King. Their burgers taste way fresher. All in all it had us really grossed out and we are definitely not returning there anymore. Too bad since we had a really good experience at Five Guys in the US. The burgers were very savoury and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. The beef was really good too to our surprise. And most of all it was affordable. If you ever get a chance to go to a Five Guys in the US you really should because it's nothing like...

I've been to two Five Guys in the U.S., the preparation, menu, courteous staff peanuts, it's all the same, so kudos to that. These are the positives that earned my American reviews 5 stars, but brace yourself for why I took off 3 stars on this one

-1 The ONE FRICKIN‘ HOUR it took us from the time we stood in line to when we could order. I mean are you kidding me?! Manage it better guys! We had to go through two not one, lines!

-2 The portions are still 'American' in size, I saw a lot of wasted food, and that really hurts me. Change a few things for a new country guys, people have fever human sized portions here, not humongous wasteful anomalies you call portions in the US.

-3 Finally, stop wasting paper by handing out those paper menus when people are waiting outside, they have enough time when in line at the entrance to read it from the counter menus. Better still install some screen or illuminated board where the line starts. Keeps people informed about the menu, and mix it up with something fun to make the hour long wait easier.

Arriving at half past midnight, the place was busy with late night revellers, nine of them waiting in line ahead of me. The process of ordering was still relatively fast.

However, the milkshake machine was broken and they were out of tomatoes and mushrooms...

Waited a long time for a burger that had been sitting on the preparation surface for a while, noticing apparent confusion between the two people staffing the kitchen. So once finally served, it was tepid.

They also confused my order with the guy in front (I suppose), cuz I got bacon in a "little cheeseburger" (nope didn't order the bacon cheeseburger), and a few onions though I ordered all dressed no onions.

At least that's what I assumed the error to be... from the puzzled look of the guy assembling the burgers and frequent back and forth with his colleague at the grill.

Making a burger shouldn't be that complicated, especially when they have the order sheet next to each.

Was it good? Yes. Was it hot and what I had ordered? NO

(I ordered to go and only found out once I had left the premises, so couldn't ask for a switch)
