Repeat customer. I'm living closeby and this is one of my top go-to dessert places in this area. I dine out once everyday and I have to say that after comparing the price and food quality, Genki cafe is under-rated: the price is slightly lower than other places in the area, I have dined at many places in Saint German and a simple fruit tart charged me 10euro, yet Genki mille-crepe which cost tons of time and effort to make is a few euro less....that's incredible!!
Speaking from my personal experience: I had been living in Tokyo for 6 years, although crepe cakes have long existed in french pastry, but modern mille crepes were invented by Japanese pastry chef Emy Wada.
I have had lots of mille crepe cakes in Tokyo and in other countries, also have had some bad mille crepe cakes before....I have to say bravo to Genki cafe, because their chefs really nailed it. Their cakes are always freshly made, delicious, not overly sweet and they have a HUGE selection of flavors, such as strawberry, lime, oreo, sweet potato yam, black sesame, earl grey caramel, tiramisu, coconut....etc. (So far I have tried 90% of all their flavors and enjoyed all of them lol !)
If you are not familiar with these cakes but want to give it a try, please choose oreo flavor, it's one of their best sellers, also my husband most favorite ;)
This cafe also provide light meals such as freshly made sandwiches and rice bowl, and a large selection of drinks. Service is always good and their washroom is clean and spacious.
A small suggestion: it would be nice if the owner can decorate the plain white wall with some framed wall arts ( painting or photo...
Read moreFirst thing’s first I just wanna say the place is very clean, pretty, and very inviting looking, great for taking pictures as well. The only young male worker was very kind and attentive, definitely eased down my social anxiety. The food was delicious! I ordered a Strawberry Shortcake and a Strawberry mille crepes, both very good surprisingly enough since i’m usually not a very big fan of sweets and desserts, but the cakes weren’t too sweet, it was perfectly balanced, it was moist, soft and just delicious! and the atmosphere was just as great, it was calm, quiet and cozy, definitely a good place to just chill and with soft and very good music playing, But I am a little disappointed over the prices, I can definitely say it’s a bit pricey for just a couple slices of cake. but overall i definitely recommend coming!! I’ll definitely be coming back whenever i get the chance. (I recommend coming in early morning since that’s when there’s usually...
Read moreThis place is amazing. Very aesthetically pleasing as it is very minimalistic. Very luminous. The sitting is comfy and open. We ordered 4 different cakes and a drink : a basque cheesecake, a matcha mille crepe, an oreo and coconut cake, a mango cake and finally a mango frappé. They were all very tasty, the matcha mille crepe wasn’t too heavy nor sugary; the basque cheesecake is literally the best I found in Paris so far and not too sugary either. The mango cake is also light and flavourful. The oreo coco cake is the most sugary here and it was still very good. The drink was very refreshing even in this cold weather I would recommend. The service was very nice, the drinks are made in front of your eyes and the wait isn’t long at all. Owner very sweet and asks for advices on the cakes !...
