My visit to Fauchon in Madeleine, Paris, was an indulgent journey into the world of exquisite desserts and fine cheeses. Situated in the heart of Paris, Fauchon is renowned for its decadent pastries, desserts, and gourmet offerings, and my experience certainly lived up to its stellar reputation.
As a lover of all things sweet, I couldn’t resist sampling some of Fauchon’s renowned desserts. Each bite was a revelation of flavor and craftsmanship, with delicate pastries and cakes that were almost too beautiful to eat. From the rich and velvety chocolate mousse to the light and airy macarons bursting with flavor, every dessert was a work of art that delighted the senses.
In addition to the desserts, I also had the pleasure of indulging in a cheeseboard showcasing a selection of artisanal cheeses. The cheeseboard was a true celebration of France’s rich cheese-making heritage, featuring a diverse range of textures and flavors that tantalized the palate. Accompanied by freshly baked bread and gourmet condiments, it was a cheese lover’s dream come true.
The ambiance at Fauchon was equally enchanting, with its elegant decor and inviting atmosphere creating the perfect setting for a luxurious dining experience. Whether savoring desserts or sampling cheeses, I felt transported to a world of culinary indulgence and sophistication.
What truly stood out during my visit was the impeccable service provided by the staff at Fauchon. From the moment I stepped foot into the establishment, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary.
Overall, my visit to Fauchon in Madeleine, Paris, was a gastronomic delight from start to finish. With its exquisite desserts, sumptuous cheeses, and impeccable service, Fauchon is a must-visit destination for anyone with a passion for gourmet cuisine. I look forward to returning soon to explore more of Fauchon’s culinary offerings and indulge in another unforgettable...
Read moreWe came cause we heard it was a great delicatessen back in the days. However, we didn't perceive any value on the things we were being served.
We were the first clients to arrive on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm, on an empty restaurant terrace and we were being asked if we have a reservation... with 9.30pm being the closing time!
Service staff was friendly, but not very knowledgeable. So, once we were about to order, we got informed that unfortunately the pâté en croûte was already sold out.
Food wise we weren't very hungry so we shared a Caesar salad, a croque monsieur, some pâté and some cheese. The salad shouldn't be in that menu and if yes, not for 20-21€! it was the poorest and tasteless Caesar salad I had across Europe. Waitress confirmed hearing that before. It's not her fault being honest and apologetic after a complain, but it's the management failure not to react and correct this recurring incident. Offering a glass of champagne, which I refused, is not a problem resolution, cause it doesn't prevent the next customers from falling for this menu item again.
As for the croque monsieur, kitchen should have at least prepared it over the last five minutes before its being served, cause that cheese started getting hard, but the time it reached our table.
Nonetheless, I give it 3 stars, cause I felt it was our fault for choosing lunch items during dinner service, and lady that served us was...
Read moreIt was a lovely Sunday afternoon and had walked for quite a while and thought we would just stop for a lovely cake and drink. I have fond memories of the old Fauchon back in 2000. But this time was extremely disappointing and actually left a bitter taste. After being met by a barrier rope blocking the access to the restaurant (as if it were some trendy night club), and waiting for 5mn a waiter finally decided to come to us. Several waiters were right there 1 meter away but too busy setting the tables and just plainly ignored us. After asking if we had a reservation (we did not), the waiter explained it would be difficult to get a table and did not let us in.
I looked and there were about 7 tables to my right and as much to my left of which only 3 were occupied by tourists (all white). It would have been very simple to place us. My wife and I were casually dressed. The tourists sat at the tables were the same if not worse. The explanation that all the tables were booked was an obvious lie. My conclusion is this establishment is racist and does not welcome colored and mixed race couples.
I will not go again to Fauchon nor buy any of their products and rest assured Fauchon, I will tell my friends to avoid your...
