I recently visited Hugo & Co with high expectations, having heard numerous positive reviews and feedback. However, upon arrival, I discovered that the menu had changed, and several dishes I had hoped to try, such as the Bao, were no longer available. This was a bit disappointing but didn't deter us from exploring the new offerings. We decided to order two starters and two main courses. While the food was undeniably good, I found it to be a bit too sophisticated for what I anticipated from a bistro-style restaurant. A touch more simplicity in the dishes would have been more fitting for the setting. Additionally, the limited beer selection was a letdown, as they only serve one type of beer. Despite these drawbacks, the service was exceptional. The staff were attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience.

This place was great overall. I would say that the price of the steak was high (95 euros for 1 kg) but cooked really well. The roasted chicken was incredible. Dessert was also very good we opted for the coffee ice cream with chocolate and caramel crumble. The best part of the experience was the waiters they were super personable with a very well lit atmosphere. We ate at night and it was a great vibe. I will say that the menu changes every month so as I write this you will have a different selection of food to choose from. It was a fine dining menu consisting of three to four options for your starter, main course, and dessert

We loved this cozy little bistro with some of the best food that we’ve had in Paris! We could have eaten starter dish all night long! A fantastic gaspacho with watermelon and tuna. The main dish was just delicious. I had skate wing, something I have never had before, and which was cooked to perfection, and my husband had Roasted chicken with Chantelle mushrooms and small roasted potatoes. We highly recommend this lovely little place! The only thing that was a little weird was that, because it is very small, they do two seatings, meaning that you have to book for a set time. Not a problem at all! Try it, it is really sweet

The food was very nice. BUT when I made the reservation for 7.30pm, we were told we had our table until 9.30pm. When we arrived we were told we had to leave at 8.55pm. When we ordered we had to order desert directly otherwise it would be too late to order. This is very unusual and you do not know when you come in if you want a desert or not. The courses came one after the other, we felt they were urging us to eat and leave. They said our table was reserved for the second shift at 9pm, when we asked if they could wait for a few moments before bringjng the deserts. It came directly, although it was only 8.20pm. When we had just finished our deserts, the waiter brought the bill to the table, before we had asked for it. We felt we were not very welcome, only to eat their food as fast as possible. We left even before 8.55pm, very unsatisfied and disapointed dispite the good food. As our stay was very nearby we went back at 9.30pm to see that our table was empty. So why rush us to leave at 8.55pm. We were on holiday but this restaurant didn’t give us a holiday feeling, which was not necessary at all. And we would have spent more as we would have ordered more wine and...

This week we had an amazing meal at Hugo&Co. The food was original, tasty and beautifully presented and portions were generous.Between 6 of us we tried nearly everything on the menu which is short but perfectly balanced.Everyone enjoyed their food .Great sauces, complex dishes and vegetables ! (Often a rarity in French bistrots) 2 small comments - pork belly could have been a bit crispier and more rendered down to reduce fattiness. Carpaccio of St Jacques was a bit over dominated by a dessert like vanilla note - better to just have the citrus freshness of the kumquat for me personally. The wine list was short and interesting. The service was efficient & friendly and even with a 2 hour time slot, we didn’t feel rushed . The ambiance was lively, warm and cozy with a nice vibe . 2 comments for improvement - lighting at our central bar table was a bit bright and harsh - better to switch to lights used everywhere else in the restaurant. The cooking smells in the bistrot were strong, need better evacuation of kitchen odours ( clothes smelled after) and the room was a bit hot and stuffy .

Overall, a great dining experience at a reasonable price and we will...

I would not come back to this restaurant. It is a very poor representation of the French culture of gastronomy and its importance in the way of life. Due to their system of reservations, customers are given 2 hour time frames, which is reasonably acceptable in modern times. However, the service was so rushed, they served us a 3 course meal in ONE hour. How is this even possible in France at such a reputable restaurant? The kitchen could not even keep up with this accelerated pace, as the dishes were hardly warmed before serving. The starter was removed and the main course presented as the dishes were being taken away. Same with the rapid delivery of the dessert. At least they got their table back 1 hour before specified. The server explained to me on the way out that the priority is to have two services due to being a small restaurant. Fine. But the speed and rushing diners is so not French. Do not go to Hugo & Co for a relaxed, genuine and welcome experience. Shame on...
