Café Delmas — Restaurant in Paris

My dad and I's third and last night in Paris was spent at Cafe Delmas. We stayed at Hotel de Arenes and for 3 nights had been on the hunt for escargot. Every time we went somewhere, they didn't have them. So on this night, we planned on going to a restaurant about 50 feet away only for them not to be open as advertised. I walked across the street and was greeted by the host who said they had them and voila 🎉

The food...... get the escargot!!! I don't know if it was because we are American or not but they made us the parsley and butter instead of the burgundy. We got the scallops with some kind of chip, puree and sauce that would blow your mind. They gave us a small green salad to share that was the absolute best salad that my dad and I have ever had (and we've been all over). They have HH with delicious wine and beer until 7pm. Every single part of food and beverage was a 1000/10!!! Compliments to the chef.

The people.... the manager or host (Fabrice) was incredibly kind to a barely French speaking me and a loud American dad. We were crying in happiness and laughter at one point and he came to check on us. But the star of the show was JAHANGIR! When you go, ask for him. He was the most friendly and funny person we have met on this trip. 10000/10!! 🤗

I cannot imagine a better finale to our Paris trip than our dinner at Cafe Delmas. If I ever make it back to Paris, this is...

23 July 2025: Returned after again being in the neighborhood at lunchtime. Sorry, no photos, had salads. Caesar with fried chicken strips with an excellent crust and special salad of the day, choux frisé (curly cabbage) with orange, grapefruit and a honey mustard dressing and a few slices of fried salami on top. Well prepared and tasty. Proprietor was very friendly and happy to see us back.

Had lunch after wandering Rue Mouffetard. Sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. Short wait for a table. 3 salads, 2 special Caesar with deep fried chicken tenders and another salad with Serrano ham. Mine was slightly over dressed but good nonetheless. Nice wine by the glass list including one special. Jazz...

Thank you for asking the reason for the bad rating. The rating is about the service. I can’t say about the food because we never managed to eat! We arrived 2 persons around 10.40am. After 20 min the waiter had not come to take an order so we called him and he came. That was about 11am. We ordered an english breakfast and a pain au chocolat. At 11.20 the waiter came and told us that there is no more of what we ordered. We asked what else there is for breakfast and he said there is no more breakfast. So, we asked what there is to eat generally and he said there is nothing!!! In the meantime he was serving, though, other people that came after us.
