I’ve been here a few times without any issues but today I had an upsetting experience which has prompted me to publish my first (and probably only) google review.
One of the baristas (short hair, glasses) who works here is/was really rude so beware. I’m not sure if they were just having a bad day or have a disdain for foreigners but when I asked for a splash of oat milk in my coffee (as I have sensitive stomach) they looked at me with disgust as if I was an idiot and said “that’s the same thing as asking for ice cubes in your wine”. I then had to insist on it before they scowled and agreed to adding the milk.
I completely understand that milk is not needed for every coffee but I was a paying customer who asked nicely. The barista acted as if they had personally grown the beans that made the coffee themselves and had some sort of ownership over how the coffee should be consumed.
It was weird and off putting which is a real shame as the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and the overall vibe...
Read moreThe best coffee we've had in Paris! The knowledgeable and friendly barista has a super high standard in his coffees. We've seen him re-make a coffee if it was slightly not up to his standard, and the ones that do pass taste amazing. Not only are the milk based coffees one of the best I've had, the beans here are regularly rotated so if you come two days in a row you can taste different flavours. I would encourage you to try the filter too. Although a bit expensive, we went for the 10 euros cup of Gesha and it was super memorable. Thank you so much! We came during twice during the rainiest of days and before a trip to Bordeaux. The barista remembered us (even our casual mention of going to Bordeaux) and even gifted us an amazing apple bakery to wish us luck! It tasted so good I would recommend Thank you I.O. Cafe for bringing us such delightful moments. Best of luck and hope we can...
Read moreI/O Café in Paris has a lot of charm, but the space is incredibly small, especially during the winter when outdoor seating isn’t an option. The limited indoor area leaves no room for people waiting to order to-go, which can make the experience feel a bit chaotic. When I visited on Friday after lunch, there was one person ordering inside with a dog, and I decided not to wait in the cold for my turn.
It’s clear that this café is popular and always bustling, which is a testament to its quality. However, the lack of space can be frustrating for customers. I hope they consider expanding to a larger space in the future to accommodate their growing following while maintaining...
