Very misleading, expecting a refined experience = cheese restaurant serving cheese from their own shop (makes me expect a little expertise) together with a rather large wine selection.
What we got was very different, cheese were good quality and the gnocchi plate was tasty but the service is just atrocious. I asked a simple question about the wine, the first waiter couldn't help which can happen because he said he was here since 1 week (even though I have never seen a new staff member that comfortable drinking during service after 1 week in the company in my life but ok I guess), so he asked the other waiter, which also couldn't help because he was here since 2 weeks... I know finding staff isn't easy but why would you hand me over a wine list with wines that are mostly 50 euros+ if you don't know a thing (which grape in that case) about the said wines.
Halfway throughout our dinner they ran out of bread... I mean it can happen, but you are a cheese and charcuterie place, so you need to have in the house 3 things, cheese, charcuterie... and bread! If you are running low during the day just walk to the next bakery, please.
I guess I forget few other points but I should stop here.
The waiter was way too casual, calling us 'sweety' or 'darling' which can sometimes be funny I guess but not in that case, maybe if the whole menu was 50% cheaper it would be something I could take as part the place but the behaviour here was beyond acceptable, or there were just drunk I don't know. I am French but I have heard a lot of non French tourist or not I don't know. I don't live in France anymore so maybe this is how I got fooled but please don't let yourself charmed but the image this place gives because...
Read moreMONBLEU Le Comptoir is a delightful restaurant that offers a fantastic dining experience. The overall ambiance of the place is wonderful, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for patrons. The team working at the restaurant is exceptional, providing attentive and friendly service throughout the meal.
The food at MONBLEU Le Comptoir is of high quality, with a wide variety of options to choose from. However, one minor drawback is the limited selection in the dessert section. While the brownies offered are delicious, it would be great to have more choices available to satisfy different sweet cravings. This is the reason for the 4-star rating on the food.
Despite this small concern, the prices at MONBLEU Le Comptoir are reasonable and offer good value for the high-quality food and overall dining experience provided. Whether it's a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends, this restaurant is a great choice.
In conclusion, I highly recommend MONBLEU Le Comptoir. The wonderful ambiance, excellent service, and delicious food make it a must-visit place. While the dessert options could be expanded, it does not take away from the overall enjoyment of the...
Read moreWell, we’ve seen ads from them many many times recently, it was all about the new raclette menu, so we decided to give it a try. We already know MONBLEU and it’s large and delicious cheese selection in the fromagerie. So we expected something … (at least) very good.
What a disappointment to see that it was the same setup as we can all do at home.
Cheese were good, but the cold cuts and vegetables offers were meh. None of us finished the side plates and it wasn’t because we were full.
Place was cozy, but not easy to access, and the...
