Jey’s — Restaurant in Paris

The food at Jey's was fantastic, as noted in all the other positive reviews. We were however a little put off by the slow service and the price, as noted by some of the previous negative comments. The place was jam-packed and with just one person serving there was a long wait for drinks and food. We were happy with the first dishes we ordered and tried to order more but the wait ended being too much and we left, sadly a little hungry. In fact, we saw another couple sit down and leave after they hadn't been greeted or served. Indeed the prices are up on the board for all to see but of course the size of the dishes isn't apparent and the prices are quite high - you need to order numerous little plates for each person if you're looking for a full meal. A fantastic discovery, we loved loved our dinner, it was elevated Israeli food. The textures, the flavors and the esthetic were so amazing that we felt like we travelled tonight. The Chef owner is passionate and came to your table multiple times to make sure that we were enjoying ou evening but also wants to truly connect with you. The chef asked us how hungry we were, and he suggested to compose our dinner with some plates from the menu, like an assortment of the bests. It was perfect, we even ordered more ! Amazing food, atmosphere, warm and friendly staff. Jey’s food reminds me of how humans are supposed to live- but I felt every sense was nourished! We found the place by accident, and what luck - it was my favorite meal of our time in Paris. We had the hummus, grilled halloumi, zatar pita, wine and an incredible beef dish (on the waitresses recommendation, so good!). My only regret is that my belly isn’t bigger, because I wanted more and more.
