La Monella Pizzeria — Restaurant in Paris

I went tonight for diner at La Monella based on reviews I had seen on internet, sadly it did not live up to the expectations. Service: the service was not particularly nice, but the main problem was that they were understaffed. 2 persons for all the table inside & outside. We had to wait 30 min to complete our order, and we could see the staff being overwhelmed by clients & the kitchen screaming at them as the pizzas were sitting way too long on the counter. Food: it was a real disappointment there as I did not recognised good napolitan pizzas (see picture). We had a quatro fromaggio and a veggie one. The cheese was not good at all and not balanced - and the veggie one was quite soggy. Event the white wine we tried and the cocktails not great. I had a very disappointing lunch today there. The antipasti was such a low that we did not order the pizza. The young lady serving us today was very patient and try to make her best (shortage of bread, then not beers) ... The olive were watery, the olive oil tasteless, the other veggies obviously acidic and out of a can, the mozzarella, if di buffala, of the lowest quality. The desert was absolutely poorly executed with still dry boudoirs (biscuit used, supposed soaked in coffee). I might come back to try the pizza. 2* instead of one because of the service. Expensive. Go to Soprano instead (cheaper and so much better) but...

The pizza is amazing; the dough is really one of the best I have ever tasted, but the service left a really bad taste in my mouth. We were presented with the bill without asking for it, and then the waitress arrived two minutes later and stood over us with the card machine until we paid. I even told her that we were not quite ready yet. This made us feel really unwelcome and as if we were being rushed out of the restaurant.
