Ke Chuan – Where the Dumplings Are Hot and the Dog Is the Boss Thanks to leparisdalexis (Alexis Thiebaut on Instagram), we ventured into this quirky little corner of Paris—and what a trip it was. We visited Ke Chuan on a quiet weekday and were immediately greeted by
an angry little dog. And not just any dog—we’re 90% sure it owns the place. After a quick sniff test and some side-eye judgment, we were (grudgingly) allowed inside. From there, it was all uphill: welcoming (human) staff, lots of seating, and most importantly—incredible food. We ordered a generous spread of dumplings and a few other dishes, and honestly? Every bite was perfect. Flavorful, comforting, and beautifully done. The kind of food that makes you sit back and say, "Yes, this is exactly what I needed." Now, the twist: Just as we were settling in, the sky opened up. While most restaurants might panic about rain hitting the patio, here at Ke Chuan, the staff sprang into action—not for the guests, but for the plants. Dozens of leafy green VIPs were carefully moved outside to enjoy the rainfall. We watched, mesmerized, as the team gave their potted friends what can only be described as a spa day in the drizzle. Is this a French thing? Is this a Ke Chuan thing? Is the dog the true mastermind behind the greenery? We may never know. But we kind of loved it. Bonus points: if you’re a fan of retro gaming, DJ culture, or music in general, the whole area around here is full of little gems waiting to be explored. We’ll definitely be back—and next time, we might bring a treat for the real owner.
