KUMA - Cadet — Restaurant in Paris

We had planned to do take out at Kuma the saturday we were there. There was a long line when we arrived but I snuck in to talk to the lady manning the counter to ask how long would it take if we were to take it out. She was very kind and knew my accent right away! hehe It turned out she is half-filipina!! While waiting for our take out, a table cleared and we kindly asked if we can sit down and have dinner there instead, seeing as it was already a bit late and we were all tired. They said yes to it, cleared the table and made room for us! A restaurant with few menu choices is always a good sign that they do good with the menu that they serve and we were not wrong! A lot had the Karaage don which was very good and some had the Karaage curry which was equally good. And good portions as well! Reasonably priced too :) Shoutout to Sara (or Zara, Sarah) who took all 9 of us and had a good banter with, her being half filipina and all :) 10/10! This place is a hidden gem! The Japanese curry here is simply out of this world, rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and everything is cooked with care and authenticity. The portions are generous, the presentation is beautiful, and the service is warm and attentive. I tried the katsu curry and it was probably the best I've ever had !! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and smothered in a delicious, comforting curry sauce. The karaage was absolutely divine (and thanks for removing the bones), so juicy and well marinated, the skin a little crunchy while the meat extremely tender. They go very nicely with the curry rice. The curry itself was not overpowering the karaage, it’s a soft flavored curry, I could almost just eat it as it is. It’s a good company to the dish. The soft boiled eggs were perfect as well, not powdery like sometimes you would find in ramen soup, this is firm and has a chewy texture. The portion was generous, almost enough to serve two people.
