L'Acanthe — Restaurant in Paris

I recently dined at L'Acanthe, a charming French bistro fusion with Italian, located near the Louvre, and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. I ordered the French bistro steak and it did not disappoint. The steak was cooked to perfection - tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It was served with a side of oven potatoes and salad, which were equally delicious. My husband had the chicken risotto, which was very tasty too.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, with a cozy and intimate setting that's perfect for a romantic dinner or a casual meal with friends. It started well. Drinks in the square under the trees. We intended to freshen up at the hotel before dinner but started for our reservation time. Half an hour before our reservation we told the lady our plans. We were told off for not telling her as soon as we arrived. We ordered food. A huge beef starter arrived, quite tasty but incredibly salty. We were further told off for not keeping our cutlery clean in order to use it for the next course. The main course of salmon gravadlax was absolutely not gravadlax. Tasteless chuncks of raw salmon with stone cold tasteless potatoes with a herbycaper sauce and the oddest thing I’ve ever come across… sweet whipped...

We dined here as a group of 4. We ordered four main courses. To start with, the portions are very small. The staff are nice and friendly, but sometimes they were pushy by offering their desserts. We even told them the portions were small, they said it they while were joking "it's to make sure you will keep enough space for desserts".

The food was fresh though, nothing bad about the taste, and the ambience of the restaurant is also friendly and welcoming. Located in a busy street with other restaurants.
