Really bad experience. We found a nice bag online that we wanted to buy, tried to purchase online, but it said it would deliver in few days which was fine. We went to the store and found the exact same bag. It was priced double the internet. I explained it to the person who was helping there and he said this could be a different color. I showed him the website on my phone that it was the same color. He then brought someone else and they told me, buy it online! After I made all this trip.
So, the story does not end here, I bought it online. It originally said it will arrive wednesday July 13, then they kept sending us emails that it will be later and later, finally it said July 15 saturday which is ok (we leave to US on July 17). Then it changed to Monday july 18.
We ended up craming all our stuff without being able to buy a last minute bag due to this silly situation.
We called BHV marais, the guy closed the phone on me and spoke only french. My wife happens to speak french and talked to him and he said nothing they can do. They took our money, didnt help us in the store to purchase the exact same item and color, didnt return our money, didnt care to help on the phone, and made our life miserable while we had to throw out stuff last minute to bring to the U.S.
Honestly, I think this is how most french businesses were and the people that we met. I will never go to France anymore. I visited Amsterdam too and the people there were very helpful. I have a lot more stories of people not being helpful in France.
I MUST say though, if you had to shop go to PRIMTEMPS. They were the only helpful people (unfortunately was too late to get a bag from them last minute while we were staying...

Read moreThank you Jon (I hope your name is Jon!) at BHV! My husband and traveled to Paris during the last leg of our visit to France. I had brought my lap top to France as I had to work with coaching clients and a few projects in between touring, eating great food and spending time with friends. I experienced a bit of a crisis when my computer suddenly wasn't working correctly again. Having had a positive experience at your branch in Lyon (a different technology challenge) we made haste for the Marais store. Jon (dreadlocks, a lovely, personable guy in the computer section) listened patiently as I shared my plight, was able to help me and more importantly, found the device I needed to keep my computer alive and kicking. So thank you, for your help and for having an excellent command of the English language. It might have been a normal customer service transaction for you, but it wasn't for me. You are an excellent example of why having trained, knowledgeable staff members makes such a difference when it comes to a customer service experience. Merci! ...
