Everyone! Be aware of the fact that you can bring your pets to this hotel which means some of the guests have a chance to be arranged to the certain rooms when the hotel is fully booked. I was the unlucky person! I didn’t realize where the stinks came from at first. I found it out when I saw a huge dog with the guest after changing my room two hours of unhappy talking and waiting. I explained what went wrong with my room right after checking in, the manager said she would send the lady who was in charge of cleaning and check the situation. She came and offered me to mop the floor one more time but as you all know the smell of urine soaked on the floor doesn’t go away that easily. I was finally able to change my room spending 2 hours. The manager who I talked to several times, was very unkind and aggressive at first. She was nearly commanding and almost yelling when she told me to stay here(0 ground) until she checks the situation upstairs after I suggested that I would go to another hotel for that night because she kept saying it was fully booked and there were four rooms left waiting for other guests but she couldn’t give them to me. Obviously she knew what the problem the room had.(room 625) She suddenly changed to be kind after checking upstairs, offered me to change to another room. I really wanted to go to Novotel(next to Citadines les halles) at the moment but I was busy catching up my schedule. Anyway, I have lots of things to say about this hotel but it is something I should email to the general manager of the Citadines. It is something you should all know is that you might end up with a room with the smell of urine. After spending one night in a non-smelling room, they moved us to one of the finest rooms they had. It was on the top floor and had very low ceilings in some parts but overall in a very good condition and very spacious. The manager told me not many people can have an access to this room only for those who are regular and very long term staying customers. This room was not on the list of the rooms. The nice lady(she really was) who helped me to check in to a new room told me that I had a chance to have one free cleaning because I was staying 6 nights but no one came. After two nights of my request, nobody said anything so I asked why. They said I have no cleaning service because I changed to a new room and that meant I used a chance to get a cleaning service. How convenient! I am pretty sure it was the manager’s idea because she was in charge of every decisions. It wasn’t my fault to be arranged to a stinky room and change a room. I didn’t expect to have an access to a room for so-called ‘privileged.’ I just wanted a room that I saw on the homepage when I was booking. The reason I could stay in that room was I am the gold member of Asccot. They said they have many different sizes and shapes of rooms, so don’t expect the room you saw on...
Read moreAgree with all the recent reviews - stay AFTER the renovations are complete. It could be really nice if it wasn’t an active construction area.
We stayed in a renovated room and it was nicely renovated. No major complaints there, they might have cleaned the construction dust up a little better but I bring my own slippers anyway so whatever. I do have major complaints with everything else. I booked this because it said on the website that renovations would be complete by the time I was supposed to stay. LOL nope. the hotel was very much under construction. When we walked in, I honestly thought we were going to be murdered because it was dark and sketchy and not properly lit. We were given a room on the third floor and when we got off the elevator, the entire floor was pitch black. The exit signs were not even on. We had to use our phone flashlights to inch our way through the hallways and try to find our room. When we finally found our room, the door wouldn’t open and I had to body slam the door to get it open. Once inside the door wouldn’t lock (which I guess isn’t actually a problem, because the door wouldn’t open in the first place?) and when we went back to reception to ask for a different room, they explained that the outage was due to construction and said “the door is complicated” as if doors were foreign objects to us. I promise I know how to use hotel doors. They did eventually give us a new hotel room with a working door, but they should have warned us that the third floor lights were out, especially if they knew about the outage and they knew we were going to the third floor. I cannot overstate how unsafe it is to know that there is an outage and not tell the guests and to not even have exit signs lit up. Luckily the outage was temporary but if I hurt myself when the lights were out, would the hotel taken liability? There was only one working, very slow elevator that was shared with the construction workers, and during our stay, it only went to the first floor instead of the ground floor, making it really inconvenient for all guests. The fact that we were staying in an active construction zone is wild and not great. The plastic covering the surfaces and the floors made it slippery to walk on so it was yet another unsafe thing to add to this mess of an experience. We couldn’t use any amenities, but I guess at least the wifi was working? (Also side note: I don’t even work in construction but I know that these were unsafe working conditions. I didn’t see a single hard...
Read moreThis was my first stay at a Citadines and I was very impressed! We arrived at the hotel mid-day, before the dedicated check-in time, and were treated to an early check-in after registering for an Ascott Star Rewards account. The reception/concierge staff were very friendly and helpful and offered us our choice of view. In hindsight, you want to ask to stay on the opposite side of the large mall, however during our stay it was only loud/bothersome during early evening on the weekend and didn’t affect us after 10PM or before 10AM.
The hotel offers complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate via two machines operational 24/7 in the lobby (which we used quite a bit and greatly appreciated in the winter weather)! We did not partake in the offered breakfast which cost €18/day during our stay. Plenty of cafes, markets and stores were within walking distance.
Our stay was a short 3-nights, and we weren’t offered housekeeping services, but fresh towels, toilet paper and other amenities are available 24/7 in a self-serve room. We didn’t do any cooking in the room, but it was completely stocked with everything you’d need to prepare your own food which is amazing. There are plenty of markets and a Monoprix within walking distance.
The room was a great size, especially as accommodation goes in Paris (with traditionally small rooms). This was as much as you’d need from an apartment and would work well for a long term stay. Ideal for a couple or solo traveller looking for an “at-home” feel. There is no sofa/couch in the room.
The bed was very comfortable and room was clean when we arrived, plenty of hangers in the closet and shelving space for baggage. Lighting was great but mostly tied to one switch other than some bed side lighting and bathroom lights. There were plenty of outlets and also built in USB-C and USB ports beside to charge your devices. There’s a small fridge, cooktop, microwave dishwasher and soap/sponge available.
The location was very convenient, from CDG airport, the RER B stops just a 2-3 min walk from the hotel and there is access to the metro close by. The Louvre and Notre Dame are easily within walking distance.
Our trip was to celebrate a birthday, and we were blown away with the attention from the staff at Citadines Les Halles who sent up some compliments (drinks and snacks) to celebrate. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again, and would recommend this hotel to anyone who is travelling to Paris from anywhere from 1...
