I recently visited Maison Marnay, a charming bakery in Paris, and tried their Paris Brest pastry. I was blown away by the quality and flavor of the pastry. It is now my favorite pastry I ever had!
The Paris Brest was a perfect balance of light and crispy choux pastry filled with a rich and creamy hazelnut cream. It was beautifully presented and tasted just as delicious as it looked. The texture and flavor combination were exceptional, making it clear that the pastry chefs at Maison Marnay are truly skilled.
In addition, I also tried their macarons and was equally impressed. The macarons had a perfect texture, with a delicate outer shell and a soft and chewy center. The flavors were spot-on, with each macaron bursting with its unique flavor - from classic chocolate and vanilla to more unique flavors like raspberry and pistachio.
The bakery itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. The display cases are filled with an array of tempting pastries, cakes, and breads, all made with the finest ingredients. The prices at Maison Marnay are reasonable for the quality of the food and the experience, making it a great value for money. Overall, I highly recommend Maison Marnay to anyone looking for a delightful pastry experience in Paris. The Paris Brest was a standout pastry that I feel every hazelnut...
Read moreWe visited this boulangerie this morning for the second time this week after a good experience with the brioches (good quality for a good price) the first time. Needless to say that this time we were not so lucky. Probably our being young and foreign had the "gentil garçon" behind the counter think we could neither do the basic maths and charged us 2€ more than what we owed him claiming we didn't gave him the money he just put away (poor thing, he was not able to do that the first time because my friend payed just for her order so it was quite easy also for a non French speaker to detect the scam and had to make his best this morning). We did not want to discuss at 8 am so we gave him the money but that made us leave with a wonderful breakfast of pain au chocolat and hostility :) If you are a tourist maybe find another place or be ready to pay some extras for your regular croissant.
Nos meilleures salutations au caissier qui n'a pas pu nous dire en anglais combien d'argent nous lui devions mais nous a donné en toute confiance une serviette lorsque nous lui avons demandé (en anglais). Ciao fantastico,...
Read moreAfter a long, tiring day at the Louvre and walking along the Seine, we were ready for a quick bite. We lucked out and found this wonderful place! The employees appeared to be preparing to close but they were not rushing us and were happy to serve us. Several others came in after us and they were also served cheerily. Alfred was kind and cheery — and notably, patient and encouraging about our very limited French (he spoke English - thank you!). The other employee, a young lady, was also very friendly (we didn’t get her name). We had quiche, a chicken wrap, drinks and a chocolate eclair. All of it was delicious! Highly recommended. We will seek out this place next time we...
