We went in without reservations and just hoped for the best. At first it seemed like there wasn't any place for us, but luckily we could be seated at the bar and eat there.

For appetizers, my so and I ordered: the bruschetta and artichoke hearts with bacon (blackboard special). The bruschetta was a hefty size. The bread was toasted lovely and it had the perfect amount of tomato paste smeared on it. Topped with a lot of arugula, great serano and nice sheets of Parmigiano cheese. The artichoke hearts were bit smaller in portion. You get 2 of them, nicely prepared with tomato paste and bacon. Really good, do note that this dish is served cold.

As main dishes will had the ragu pasta and artichoke gratin. Both sizeable portions, you'll be stuffing if you want to finish these dishes. The ragu had a nice deep meat flavor and the pasta was all-dente. You get grated cheese to your liking The artichoke gratin was something I hadn't tried before and did not regret choosing tonight. The gratin gets served with a nice salad with a tasty dressing. The hearts were cooked to perfection, they blended well with the tomato sauce. So soft, yet they still had bite left. It tasted amazing.

As if we weren't full yet, we went all the way with a tiramisu. Holy hell the size of this was not something we were ready for. We shared 1 plate with 2 and it still felt too much. It had a bit too much coffee in it for my likings, but the parts that were less bitter were a delight to taste. Sweet and airy.

Every table has free water, which they replenish when it's empty. Bread got set on the table with the appetizers and refilled with the main dish.

SO bread connoisseur review: Tasted amazing!

The staff was friendly especially the bartender. The interior of the restaurant is a bit busy, but has a homey feeling in a strange kind of way.

Tl;Dr Make a reservation, get bruschetta and artichokegratin (or anything else on the menu for that matter). Be full. Enjoy great food without paying a...

We arrived when the restaurant opened at 7:16pm and were one of 3 groups. After ordering a rush of people arrived filling the restaurant. Somehow we received our meals last. Not only that, the meals came out so late that the groups that had arrived after us had already received, eaten and left before we received our meals. No explanation just "sorry for the wait".

The seating is also very close to other people (5cm gap between tables). You can't get out unless you ask other people to move. Because of this and the small space it is very loud. They've just crammed as many people in as possible and can't manage the capacity.

I don't mind waiting. I don't like leaving bad reviews. But I dislike unjust treatment. If everyone had to wait proportionately then that's fine. But we had to sit and watch as people who arrived after us ate and left before we could eat in a loud restaurant.

If the excuse is that you're busy then: - why isn't the wait equal to all customers? why cram so many people in a small space if you can't handle capacity?

If the excuse is that you forgot the order: Not possible as no reminder was required

So, could it be that we are tourists?

Could it be that we were left to wait so that you could catch up on all the orders because we seemed nice?

Is it because I'm Asian?

Either way, poor...

“Raheem, you cannot visit France and not have French food!” Those were the words that my wife uttered when I told her that French food is too carb heavy. Nevertheless, I made a compromise when my wife suggested that we visit La Bécane à Gaston for dinner…and I’m glad that I did!

Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a friendly employee who quickly seated us. As a disclaimer, unfortunately I did not capture the names of the food that we ordered from the revolving menu; therefore, you’ll have to use the uploaded pictures to make an educated guess. We both ordered glasses of wine, a starter to share, two entrees, a cheese platter, and an alcohol digestif.

Every single item that we ordered was nothing short of being delectable! While consuming the various items, the server did a great job of checking in on us (without interrupting the experience). I highly recommend this restaurant, more than likely we will be returning in the upcoming days to celebrate our wedding...
