Diabolical Experience – Also RACIST. Do not go here unless you want to ruin your day – especially if you are not white. This experience completely put me off France.
I had already had a rough start to the day and just wanted a decent meal nearby. I was alone. I was ignored for about five minutes — three different staff members noticed me and walked past several times, treating me as if I didn’t exist. I was about to leave, and then a group of white customers arrived. Suddenly, this annoying white French guy said hello to them, and only then did I finally get noticed.
I was seated and ordered. The food was plain and very bland. Then one of the servers pushed over the table, knocking everything off — including a glass of champagne. My jeans (soaked across my thigh), my Céline blazer, and my top were all stained. He was very apologetic, and I do understand accidents happen, but given the way I had already been treated, it just added to the awful experience.
What shocked me most was the attitude of that same white French guy. He spoke on my behalf to the server who offered me €20 for dry cleaning — without even asking me. Excuse me? You do not get to speak for me.
Please, DO NOT GO. The food is bland, the service is racist, and the customer care is appalling. If I had been treated decently from the start, I wouldn’t have been this upset. But I decided not to spend another cent in Paris after this.
Of course, I had to buy new trousers because I couldn’t walk around with half-wet jeans in September. That same French guy kept insisting, “It will dry.” Yes, maybe after a day — meanwhile, my thigh was sticky all afternoon.

Read moreThe service there was really bad, we asked for recommendations for the wine, without asking our preferences and any introductions the waiter just recommended the most expensive ones, and when the wine came, he didn’t offer us to try a sip first to see if we like it as normally such fine restaurants would do. And then we see he actually offered the table next to us to try the wine before he poured the glass, which make we wonder if he is discriminating is.
My friend ordered medium steak, when it comes up, the steak is obviously more like medium well, and we complained about it, he said in an arrogant way’ IN FRANCE, the medium is different’ even though he helped to change the dish but the way he explained was unpleasant, I’ve been living in Europe for like 10 years, I never heard such thing your medium is different.
While we were paying for the bill, just when my friend was trying to tap the card directly, the same waiter said again in the same way’ in France we have to insert the card’. It’s not the first time we were in France and it’s not like we never used the tapping function.
Overall the food was nice, but the way that specific waiter was treating us was very uncomfortable. We may interpreted things wrongly, but alone he recommended us the most expensive wine and didn’t even offer us to try it first is...
Read moreZero stars. The fish was not fresh at all. Also they overcharged us by 30 euros and when we tried to explain that they made a mistake and the waiter that was previously speaking to us in perfect English then pretended he didn’t speak English. I ordered the preset menu and specifically asked the waiter for the preset menu and when I asked for the fish he never told me that the item was excluded. This was a scam. It wasn’t clearly noted on their menu. If it tasted good, perhaps I would ‘t mind about their overcharge but it tasted fatty and rancid. They then raised their voices when we expressed confusion with the bill and created a scene so we just paid and left. I will need to do a charge back. DO NOT COME HERE. Beware of the rude service and unwelcoming vibe. See below for the rude response from the restaurant, which proves my point. I would never let a customer leave unsatisfied and treated so poorly. Instead of accepting criticism their response is that I came to a restaurant that “I could not afford” - utterly shameful that this is how they treat...
