Paris Eats | Michelin-Starred & Fine French Dining Under 30 Euros

Unfortunately the experience at the bistrot wasn’t what we expected for a restaurant with such high rating on google and such high prices. The vibe is that of a local pub, very small and crowded. The waiter brought tap water to the table 15 mins after we sat down. The most expensive dish on the menu (Bar Risotto à la bisque d'écrevisses, filet de bar grillée et Saint-Jacques poêlées) consisted of overcooked rice, more like a rice pudding than a risotto. The fish was ok. The waiter took away the plate on which I had left all the rice in and they didn’t even ask how it was. I told them the rice wasn’t good at all and was overcooked and they didn’t really add much comment. Simply asked if I wanted another drink instead…. The overall bill came up to €72 which is overpriced for 1 starter to share, 2 mains and 2 drinks. There’s better places to eat in Paris!

We had a wonderful lunch at Le Bistrot d'Éléonore et Maxence! The food was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. I had the salmon with vegetables – the fish was perfectly cooked, with a crispy skin and juicy inside. We also tried the gnocchi with a creamy crème fraîche sauce as a starter, and the fried sausage with rice – everything was delicious and well-balanced in flavor. The place itself is small and cozy, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The waiters were incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food, which added to the experience. Prices were slightly on the higher side, but absolutely fair for Paris and the quality you get. I would definitely come back and can recommend it to anyone looking for a nice local spot with great food and warm service.

A quick review. We took a beef tartare as well as a burger, although I would've wanted an entrecôte but well things happen. The beef tartare was abysmal. If there was any seasoning, it couldn't be tasted, the texture was mushy, and overall it lacked any characteristic of a good tartar. The burger was also a disaster, I asked for the steak to be cooked rare, it came in well done. The cheese wasn't melted and the lettuce was literally solid. Fries were ok although I don't really see a point for herbs in it, but that's a matter of preference. Drinks were fine although the beer was expensive for the low quality. To this already appalling experience, I might add that the alarm went off for a good minute in the middle of our lunch. If anything, the staff was pleasant. It pains me to say, but if other people seem to recommend this restaurant, I certainly wouldn't under any...
