I cannot urge people enough not to stay here. This hotel is literally falling apart. My husband and I had the worst hotel stay we have ever experienced here. The air conditioning in our room did not work during the recent heat wave (another reviewer recently had the same issue), our ceiling leaked onto the bathroom floor due to the broken air conditioning system, and the main light in our bathroom did not work so we could barely see anything while we were getting ready in the morning. The absolute worst part was three days into our stay, I went to take a shower and less than five minutes into the shower the shower stopped draining and flooded our bathroom floor. I was stuck sitting in my room with shampoo in my hair and had to beg the front desk attendant for a key to another room to finish showering and walk through the hotel with shampoo in my hair which was humiliating. The hotel initially offered us a room change after the ceiling began leaking, since we had just changed from a classic room to the Eiffel Tower room and were assured the leak would be fixed the next morning, we declined. We also really wanted to be in the Eiffel Tower view room as that was the whole reason we had picked this hotel to begin with. However, after the shower stopped working we asked for a room change (the same day it was offered) and were told the hotel did not have another room for us. The staff did not have the issues in our room fixed in a timely manner. When all of the issues started happening on Sunday we were told no one could come until Monday. On Monday we were gone from the room from 10 am to 5 pm and when we returned we were told the repair guy was still in our room... We asked the manager on duty when he would be finished and he refused to give us an estimate. We had to get ready for our dinner reservation (we had already missed one the night before due to the shower issue) so we asked the manager to have the repair man come back the next day as we would be gone from the room. In spite the manger promising to have the repair person come back to our room after he did not finish the repairs the first time he came, he never returned so we literally had these issues our whole stay in our Eiffel Tower view room. The main manager of the hotel is on vacation and she was unwilling to get involved in helping me address these issues during our stay. All the issues aside, I still would not recommend people stay here. The hotel is dated and the furniture is banged up, the photos online are not an accurate representation of the hotel. The service is subpar and the breakfast is not very good. The room service menu has almost nothing on it. The cleaning staff forgot to refill the water and coffee in our room more than once. Please take your money and enjoy your Paris vacation elsewhere. If you are on the fence, please go read the responses from the hotel staff to negative reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel regularly responds to poor reviews with sarcastic comments, deflection, and personal attacks. This shows the lack of care and concern. I wish I had done more homework before booking...
Read moreHotel Le Walt is an absolute gem of a property on all levels! The entire staff were so friendly and genuine that it really made this place feel like home. The room was quite big for European standards (we had the executive room which was so comfortable) which was great as we were able to unpack our suitcases, dump all our shopping and still have room to move. Our room faced the courtyard too which meant we had a quiet nights sleep. Bliss! The complimentary minibar was appreciated, as was the large bottle of water that was replenished daily. The location in the 7th is outstanding (Tour Eiffel is all but a 5 min walk). The metro is literally just out front which allows you go get anywhere around the city in minutes (line 8 is a safe line (the line you will get on from the hotel, but watch for pick pockets on the 4 and 1). The highlight for us was breakfast. I love a French breakfast (how can you go wrong with cheese, meats and pastries) but what made it special was Anne-Marie, aka Queen Lady! She was so genuine, fun and really went out of her way to make sure our day always started off right… her fresh boiled eggs were next level too! All in all we had an exceptional 7 night stay over Christmas here and we really look forward to returning. Do yourself a favour… when searching for a place to stay in Paris, look no further, you wont be disappointed! Thank-you team...
Read moreI stayed at hotel Le Walt for nine days in May and it was the most wonderful experience. I stayed in an executive room with wonderful views into a quiet, peaceful court yard. Our room was clean and gorgeous with plenty of room to move around and lots of natural light. The bathroom was up to date with a beautiful marble and gold finish with the most comfortable thick bathrobes and slippers. I enjoyed the little touches like the period phone that worked, art, biscuits and coffee in the morning and mini bar. The bed was large and comfortable, and we slept well in such a quiet room. The hotel is located next to some excellent restaurants and a patisserie that we dined at regularly. The Eiffel Tower is a few minutes walk away and we walked their nightly to view the tower light up. The Metro is right outside the building for longer destinations but we found we walked to the Invalides, Place de la Concorde, Louvre, Palais Garnier, and many other places daily, just about 10-15 minutes away. The staff at Hotel le Walt were top notch, between an easy check in, answering numerous questions, making reservation, providing recommendations and more they made the stay above and beyond my expectations. I would recommend staying at hotel Le Walt and in the 7th arr, we...
