If You Want Bad Food and Service, Choose Le Petit Cadet

My recent visit to Le Petit Cadet was the worst dining experience I've had in a long time. The service was incredibly poor and inattentive. I ordered the tartare, which was completely tasteless and half of it consisted of onions. I’m used to tartare having no onions at all (I’ve had it many times before), let alone such large and numerous pieces. Due to health reasons, I cannot eat onions. The dish tasted like raw meatball dough. I immediately asked if I could change my dish. They claimed the mistake was mine, refused to make a substitution, and insisted I pay for the dish even though they had already taken it away.

The manager came over and very rudely argued with us about the issue, without offering any apologies. He mentioned that he is 40 years old and has made many tartares, but this did nothing to improve the situation.

The server also forgot to bring one of the appetizers and the wines we ordered. This oversight didn’t matter much as we didn’t stay long in the restaurant.

To top it all off, when it was time to pay, they tried to charge us full price for the cocktails even though we had ordered them during happy hour.

The customer experience was 0/5. Even if something goes wrong during a visit, it's the staff's responsibility to ensure the customer leaves with at least a slightly positive impression. I would not recommend Le Petit Cadet to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. There are many great restaurants in the same street to...

Stumbled on this little gem whilst walking the streets of Paris.

The French Onion soup was the best I've ever had. Hands down. In fact, better than any soup I've ever had. You know what, I'm just gonna say it, it was even better than the feeling of wearing new socks. Just bloody incredible. Cheesy, gooey, incredibleness. I'll never forget it. I could write a poem to it. In fact I will:

Dear french onion soup Mostly you come out like gloup But this version of you Made my heart sing true I'll never forget you My cheesy, gooey, onion soup.

The steak was great and the best peppercorn sauce I've ever tried.

So that's two of the best versions of things I've ever had in one sitting. Why wouldn't you go here?!

I was surrounded by french speaking customers, so that's always a good sign in my books.

The only downside if sitting outside is that the view is slightly ruined by some road works but that's not the restaurants fault and therefore it's a 5 out...

I had the most disturbing personal experience in this restaurant after a wonderful 4 days in Paris. A man kicked thr door of the toilet in whilst I was in thr toilet I came out to the abuse of 2 French people laughing calling me a funking pommel. I was really upset and threatened by this I called for the manager and he laughed aswell as his waiter who smirked amd said I was, lying .I have never felt so uncomfortable in an environment. The perpetrator sat laughing in the corner with his partner which was most concerning. I have never felt so threatened and will report this to the local police when I'm.home .To be made to feel sooooo threatened and intimidated is so sD I have loved amd always loved Paris but I will never visit again due this threat on my personal space and to be not supported by the staff and nanager . I would recommend this establishment to be looked at further I'm.realky upset amd very threatened by whst happened to me...

We arrived in Paris and even before we checked in in the lovely "Hotel Monsieur Cadet" we went to the restaurant Petit Cadet just 2 min walking distance away and had an avocado toast and one of the most delicious onion soups I ever had. The waiters have all been exceptionally friendly, funny and patient. Loved the place and would have gone back if we would have had more time in Paris. Definitely a must go especially when you are staying in the area. The food was prepared very fast and they also have opened in the afternoon, which is also very untypical for Paris.

We ordered two steaks a well done and a medium rare. Both were poor quality meat, very fatty the medium rare came blue inside (very rare) and the well done was still pink and bloody. The chai latte was mostly just milk very little chai flavour. The staff were polite but offered nothing to compensate for the food they took the medium rare back and cooked it more but then it was over done it was very chewy and fatty. I didn’t take a picture after cutting into it but from the photo here you can see the quality was poor.
