T’Xuan Salon de thé et dessert 糖轩 — Restaurant in Paris

I'd passed by this shop on a stroll and their menu caught my eye. They served mille crepe with durian filling, and as a fan of Durian, I can't give up the opportunity to see if it lives up to my expectations.

I ordered a bowl of century egg porridge and a slice of the durian mille crepe just to gauge the food here. When the food arrived though, I'd gotta say the presentation was abit disappointing. But looks were certainly deceiving. Once I'd started digging into the porridge, I was continously scooping the porridge into my mouth. It's not the best century egg porridge I've had, but it's pretty delicious for a cold weathered day.

The durian was my next target. Presentation wise it was meh and abit bland. But to my delight — I'm blown away by the first bite! The durian mille crepe delivered to my expectations and more. It's no Musang King or Red Prawn durian, but it's a delicious durian nonetheless. The filling is a mixture of cream and durian flesh where the latter's texture is still preserved. The crepe itself is also way over my expectations. It's so thin that I can cut through the cake with just a spoon, and I'm barely using any force to cut the cake.

This place is an absolute gem!

The room is gorgeously decorated in a traditional but elegant style that directly take you back to China. The owner and staff are very kind and helpful. The room is always filled and there is almost always at least one Chinese client at each table (proof of its authenticity).

The drinks and food and a pleasure for the senses. Perfectly balanced with the subtle sweetness that is true to the Chinese taste, but also with minute attention to visual detail. I love how all the dishes are authentic and rare to find in France. They also often add seasonal dishes that are delicious as well!

Expérience très mitigée dans ce salon de thé dont tout le monde parle. Nous avions réservé pour juste prendre un dessert à 19h30 (j'avais demandé si c'était possible, on m'avait dit que oui au téléphone). Nous arrivons et on nous place sur une très grande table très spacieuse.

La déco de la salle est vraiment très belle. Il y a beaucoup de perte de place, car les tables sont grandes, mais c'est mieux pour l'expérience du client. Au bout de 15min d'attente, la serveuse revient prendre notre commande. Elle nous annonce que les milles-crêpes qu'on avait choisis ne sont plus disponible et qu'il ne reste que le parfum châtaigne. On remet le nez dans notre carte et au bout de littéralement deux secondes, la serveuse s'en va en nous disant froidement qu'elle repassera.

On attend encore 15min qu'une serveuse vienne prendre notre commande, alors qu'elles sont derrière le comptoir à ne rien faire. On nous annonce au final qu'il reste un milles-crêpes à un autre parfum que châtaigne. Tant mieux, ça nous permettra de goûter autre chose.

Les milles-crêpes sont délicieux. Celui à la châtaigne est très doux et peu sucré, et celui rose-litchi est doux et frais, avec des morceaux de litchis appréciables. Le goût de la rose était un peu trop prononcé pour moi mais ça ne gênera probablement pas ceux qui aiment beaucoup ça. Je n'ai pas trop aimé la panna cotta matcha qui était trop gélatineuse pour moi mais mon amie a bien apprécié.

On ne nous a pas proposé de boissons ou de carafe d'eau et nous n'avons pas osé demander tant le service était froid. Par contre, la serveuse qui s'occupait de la caisse ce soir là était très sympathique, comparé à sa collègue.

Bref, les gâteaux sont bons mais ça ne vaut pas forcément l'attente exagérée qu'il y a en week-end (où il n'est pas possible de réserver). Le service exécrable nous a complètement refroidis. Je ne pense pas que...
