30 steps from our hotel was this thai restaurant. Small, crowded and extremely service minded. Various and exciting food mixed with more common ones like pad thai. Perfectly spiced, nicely presented and at a pace that got us through a four meal course (not often that we eat that much). I want to recommend this place to everyone that has eaten Thai before and to those who has not. We had an Italian couple next to us and they were skeptic to everything but they finished all their food (and got a Jaegermeister after they had paid 😄) Service was great. We had the most lovely waiter that taught us how to pronounce our dishes correctly in Thai language (very hard!) and even if it was a really busy evening he was cool, calm, nice, service minded, and always a big smile. That makes a difference! We’re so happy we went to Chok Dee, and ladies you’re up for a treat at the toilet 😅. Ever seen Cars 2 and the wash Mater gets at a toilet when he comes to Japan? (Sorry I’ve kids in the right age). Choose your way of “cleaning yourself” after...

Cons: Rude service & bland food
Our high expectations for this restaurant were unfortunately not met.
When we arrived, the server was rude to us because our reservation (which we had the confirmation email for) was not showing up in their system for some reason that is not our fault. We sat there as they ignored us for 25 minutes before they would take our drink order. To add to an already poor service experience, the restaurant owner rudely asked us to “please leave” as soon as we finished our food because they had a wait. While I understand restaurants get busy and it’s good not to sit for too long, we paid a lot of money to enjoy ourselves and not be rushed out.
Lastly, the masaman curry was bland and the only flavor you could taste was a strange cinnamon sauce. I only took one bite before having to split my boyfriend’s meal instead.
I would avoid this place in favor of the many great Thai restaurants...
Read moreFew stars only because of the tiramisu with mango. It was my favourite spot for Tom Yum until this night. I don’t know why, but there was a lot of changes from prices to the quality of the food. Before there were the option of Tom Yum with shrimps, now there’s a Tom Yum with chicken and if you want the version with shrimps you need to pay extra
Well, I was “okay” with all that, because I wanted to eat their delicious Tom Yum
The disappointment I got is indescribable It’s a lot more expensive then it was and the taste is NOTHING like Tom Yum It tasted more like a some strange tomato soup, the broth - like a water with some stuff in it Any Thai flavour in it…….
I chose the Spritz Yuzu, and it tasted exactly like the Apérol Spritz, not yuzu at all….
I loved this place so much, but I’ll never come back again The quality just dropped down the road
The service were bad too, we were rush though all the service, felt like in some...
