My sense and experience of this place is opposite the reviews. Hosts felt hostile, hostesses super friendly. 100% of tables around me ordered "French" Hamburgers. If you go - maybe try that!
I had the soup (felt like baby food), fish (nicely-grilled but drowned in off-putting sauce - milk, peppers and pineapples?), champagne (a tad flat), coffee (bitter and astringent), and lemon merengue (aged, tough and stale). Overlarge portions, well-presented visually but bland and incongruous taste-wise.
Go in a pinch but otherwise avoid. There are SO MANY better and more historic food experiences out there....

The dark dirty road is being changed into a light stone. The traffic will become less and hopefully the lovely terrace will become a bit bigger. The trees will get a much better setting and we hope the complete view from the terrace and the restaurant will improve.
With a very good filled Caesar salade we enjoyed looking at the workers and took the noice for granted. The people are really nice and we will certainly return to look how...
